If any of you can stomach watching FAUX NEWS for a few seconds, you'll notice |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-03-08 06:34 PM by Seabiscuit
all their bobble heads fawning over Barack Obama supposedly overtaking Hillary in Iowa before the caucuses begin.
What does that tell you?
Obama's the darling of the reich wingers.
Why?
His record in the Senate, and his pandering to big corporate donors.
Not to mention the reich wing belief that no black American will ever become President in their lifetimes.
Sure, Hillary is the one they love to hate. But to them, Obama is just so, well... BEATABLE!
And if somehow he defies their world view and lands in the White House, well, in their view he'd be easy to manipulate because he's already halfway on his way to becoming a Republican, and he's naive enough to believe he can negotiate compromises with the Republicans.
In short, they promote him because they consider him a joke.

To me the shocker, though, is that Fox seems to be doing their best to beat out MSNBC and CNN in the Obama-fawning-fest.

He's merely a repuke TOOL allowing himself to be used to prevent the more electable Sen. Edwards or Sen. Clinton from winning the nomination.

24. so what are they saying about edwards? I don't watch fox news. |
|
And, for that matter, how much of the Fox News audience would vote for any Democratic candidate, so what does it matter which one they tear down or build up?
FWIW -- my foxnews watching, rushbot father in law told my wife the other day that he has problems with all of the Democrats: HRC because, well, because he's been trained to dislike her for years; Obama because he doesn't think he has enough experience; and Edwards because he's a plaintiff's lawyer and my father in law is a doctor with a huge dislike of plaintiff's lawyers. On the repub side he really dislikes Huckabee (my father in law is not a fundie) because he thinks he's tax raising fake. He doesn't seem to have made up his mind between rudy and mitt, but he'll vote for either one of them over anyone the Democrat put up. I think he's a pretty typical Fox News viewer.

He's very obviously the one they're sure they can beat and I think they're absolutely correct. Rush and Hannity have been slobering all over Obama for weeks now. I wrote this back in the middle of December on the topic: http://journals.democraticunderground.com/Gman/61

He's the best candidate to keep both Sen. Clinton and Sen. Edwards from getting the nomination.
Sen. Obama's heart is in the right place, though. The right-wingers that he is listening to have told him that he has a chance to win the General Election.
Or, Sen. Obama will pull a "Lieberman" if he's elected.

I think they're promoting him (in that Faux way) for two reasons: 1. Building him up to knock him down. 2. They think America is racist enough that he'd be easy to beat in the general (I have no idea if they're right about that).

And this should influence my opinion how exactly? On the one hand you talk about stomaching Fox news and on the other you worry about their opinions (or your perceptions of their opinions). No, I'm afraid the only point you will succeed in making is to confirm that you are working to defeat Obama. That's cool, but using Fox Nooz as your weapon is hardly convincing.
