8. In view of America's economic condition, I'm considering voting for Paul. |
|
I've lost faith in the two-party system's ability to tackle the really tough problems like SS and health care. A Democratic President/Congress will result in better programs for the poor and the working class, but they'll do it by increasing deficit spending. We cannot continue to spend money we do not have. We've maxed out the credit cards and one way or another we'll pay the piper. We need new blood in DC.

Paul is a Republican.
How exactly is a vote for Paul going to get around the two-party system?
And why are you repeating Republican tripe about Democrats being spendthrifts when it is Bush who has spent us into a bottomless pit of debt?

20. Our social programs are unfunded. It's all one big pyramid scheme. |

The best we can hope for is a small, stable government that works for the best interests of the people rather than those of the highest bidder. Right now I feel my money is being wasted on wars I don't want, programs that cost too much or don't make sense, and corruption I can't even imagine. Let me keep the money I make and I'll do the best I can.

14. "We need new blood in DC." NO! |
|
No, we need more money from the very wealthy to help pay back the people for their good fortune. Without us people...they wouldn't have a dime...unless they were fortunate enough to inherit it.

18. I agree, but it will never happen. |
|
I don't see either party doing what has to be done and I do not expect Paul to run as a Republican. He is gaining the support of young people who see him as an independent who's not beholding to corporate interests. I don't agree with him on much, but I've completely lost faith in politics as usual.

16. According to Ron Paul, you should have an equal voice in govt as Microsoft or Exxon. |
|
Tell me, honestly - if your Rep has Bill Gates on one phone line and you on the other, who do you think he's gonna talk to? Would he have some one take your number & call you back? would he even remember your name?
That's fine with Ron Paul.

I'm sorry I missed that one. Ron Paul supporters always make for the most amusing c-span callers. Hubby is so sick of washington journal that under threats of my life, Ive had to take a break for now. Though I have to admit... Id pay to see a Paul / Gravel debate. It would be the most entertaining ever.

13. Dunno if this Ron Paul suuport is real or astroturfing |
|
But if he does place in the top 3 in the Repuke caucus tonight, we have to take him seriously.
And by taking him seriously, that means we can NOT let him be the one with the anti-war, anti Patriot Act, anti globalistfascist foreign policy message.
We need a candidate with credibility on those issues.

17. He's this year's equivalent of Pat Robertson (who came in 2nd in 1988) |
|
If Paul comes in 3rd, the GOP establishment will utterly destroy him. There's no way in hell they would ever tolerate him being their nominee.

he has a shitload of money, and i predict he's in it till the end regardless of his showing. that should be a good thing, as the remaining candidates will have to spend money attacking him; especially if he rises through attrition, which is possible with a hard head.
