14. The Pukes are on C-Span 2, if you want to take a look.
The channels are right next to each other on my cable system, so it's easy to flip back and forth.

However, some of these Iowa folks know their shit. I just heard a lady comment on the REALITY that Senators don't win Presidential elections. I believe she's a Richardson supporter, which makes sense, given those comments.

5. Gotta narrow it down to "viable" candidates, first, that is,
those that draw 15% or more, from what I saw a minute ago.

18. I love it
It's too bad it wouldn't be practical for all states to do it this way. I'm always jealous on caucus night.

20. Doesn't seem like a good democracy to me
Everyone knows who you vote for? who you support?

I guess employers and others in the community will know that you perhaps supported a more progressive candidate? I've seen many employers take note of these types of things.

Isn't a good democracy supposed to include the ability to cast your ballot without others knowing who you voted for?

22. Caucusing with your employer would be more apt to happen in rural areas
than in the urban and suburban areas. And, in a small town everybody probably already knows who's a Democrat and who's a Republican. If you're attending the same caucus as your boss, at least you're members of the same party so, unless your boss is a real ass, s/he will probably forgive you your trespasses.

I love the caucuses and would hate to see Minnesota give them up. Yes, it is democracy - think of them as town hall meetings. What gets over looked is that issues play a much bigger role in caucus states that in primary states. I hope CSPAN sticks with the caucus it's reporting from when the issues debates start.

24. thanks
thanks for the response. I've never participated in a caucus before, as I've only lived in states with primaries where people go into an enclosed voting booth and are allowed to cast their ballot with privacy.

I wouldn't like the caucus method where everyone knows who you vote for. I'm sure some employers (and others in the community) watch this kind of stuff -- not only which party caucus you show up at, but which group you go to stand in. To think otherwise, is naive (and that's not meant as an attack).

Casting your ballot in privacy has got to be fundamental to any functioning democracy.
