A corporate lawyer, a law professor/civil rights advocate, and a plaintiff attorney/advocate walk into the Senate. Which one would you want in the White House in Jan 2009?
Maybe it should be a poll instead.

2. Richardson still has my vote. |

Just sayin'.
As an aside, your question seems to imply that "lawyer = bad". Wouldn't you *want* someone who understands the law to run the place?

Maybe just a weak attempt that fell short at humor.
Just wanted to get to the background/experience of the 3 leading candidates. Tried to identify the primary vocation of each prior to their election to the Senate. One served a single term, another is in their 1st term, and the 3rd was recently elected to their 2nd term. All in all, each has roughly equivalent experience at the Senate level as their highest elected office, so previous jobs would seem to have some bearing. Because each is/was a lawyer, wanted to start a discussion about how our views of their particular discipline might play into how we might vote or support one over the other.
As pointed out in another response to this OP, this is not a unique way to look at our current frontrunners.

co-founded the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, a state-level alliance with the Children's Defense Fund, and was appointed by President Carter to serve on the National Board of the Legal Services Corporation, becoming the first female chair of that Board?
