Since when did using RW terms against Democrats become allowed on DU? |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 02:49 PM by LostinVA
I've been told I'm a bully and into censorship because I don't like DEMOCRATS being referred to by RW slurs coined by the RW Machine to slime Dems: Slick Willy, Billary, Hitlery, etc. Oh, and I was also told that those of us on the Left ALWAYS call the Clintons these names.
This is against DU rules, just as is linking to RW sources is. I don;t give a damn if you don't like HRC, but explain why, don't use RW filth to do it. WE've fought too long and hard against this.
on edit: This isn't a call out to Mods or Admins -- they're doing a fine job amongst this madness!

1. To be honest, it started becoming acceptable here when Hillary announced her candidacy... and... |
|
... the so-called "progressives" doing it have no other ammo to use.

6. And we election integrity activists are being told (by DUers) |
|
..."Get over it", "Sore Loser", "Sour Grapes"...all the things the Reeps said in 2000.
We need a new acronym, I guess: IOKIYAD.

18. A classic example of what the OP was calling out: |
|
<1> "Normal", meaning yourself. Anyone who disagrees is "abnormal".
<2> "...batshit crazy stories about Hillary "rigging" a Democratic primary" Short on facts, long on insult. In actuality, very few (I have seen none) stories say that Hillary rigged the election. Some do suggest that the Reeps rigged it for reasons of their own. A classic example of transference as practiced by Reeps.
Most of the stories I have seen have said "This looks like 2004. Let's look into it, so as to prevent another stolen Presidential election later this year". Not crazy at all, so those get ignored.
Thanks for proving the OP's point.

Computers don't give a damn about insults. They just run programs. And it is computers that are the issue here.

|
Election integrity -- it's just being used to bash someone they don't want to win.
I am not talking about you or any of the sincere posters... but, there is a cadre.

22. Understood, and I appreciate it. |
|
The problem is, there is a cadre on the HRC side too, and I have been flamed by them today.
Election Integrity is the only cure for the nation's ills, since it's election fraud (aided and abetted by the Supremes and others) that caused the problem. It'd be nice if more Dems supported it.

I can't imagine that happening. Not on DU. Or in the media.
No, never!

Though the big guns, more often than not, usually seem to be reserved for Senator Clinton. Or her husband.
On the other hand, the snarky nicknames people use do have a useful purpose. They tend to quickly ID the posters that can safely be taken less than seriously.
