Gore/Edwards 2008 Unlikely Scenario (FUN DISCUSSION?) |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 05:43 PM by itsrobert
Okay, just entertain me. I'm also trying to get educated about the process.
Here's the scenario:
1. Edwards announces deal with Gore that Edwards will select Gore as VP once he has the nomination and than step down.
2. Once Edwards steps down, Gore selects him as his running mate.
3. Edwards/Gore campaign together the rest of the Primaries with, "A vote for Edwards is a vote for Gore" promise.
4. Edwards gets nominated at the convention, chooses Gore as his VP, Edwards steps down, Gore automatically ascends to the President Nominee, and Gore selects Edwards as his running mate.
Not a chance in the world this would or could happen. But just for academic purposes, would the Democratic Party/Federal RULES allow this?

no candidate takes majority Gore can get in. Don't think Gore would look at VP in your scenario, but if it's brokered who knows...
