So the primaries are "undemocratic" but a brokered convention is?
Explain that to me.

The people who bitch and moan about how bad the primary system is want to throw out ALL the votes and have a convention where only the party elites pick a winner.

Say, in the unlikely event, that Clinton and Obama each have 45% of the required delegates, and Edwards has 10%. So Edwards should be the candidate? Or Gore, who has 0%?

There will not be a brokered convention - either Obama or Clinton will win outright, and they'll do it the old-fashioned way: by getting the votes.
