1. You do realize that all candidates have position papers on everything, right?
George W. Bush did.

So what?

13. I'm sure he's a very substantial person.
But his quasi-religious all things to all people campaign of mass hypnosis over persuasion is designed to hide whatever substance he may have.

He runs as a vague cypher and then his supporters get frustrated that people see him as a vague cypher.

I like him. I hope he will be President if he wins the nomination. And I respect him.

But I'm good at reading between the lines, so I know he's not the vapid faith-healer he pretends to be.

But since his campaign and message are as phony and vapid as a faith-healer revival, I can see where some people get the impression there is no there there.

I don't comprehend surfer speak. How about some of that good old standard english?

Your attempts at a counter-insult failed miserably.

Oh and thank you.

Edit: Someone said you were joking...far be it me to not be gracious and apologize. My apologies, dear surfer sir. Which is more than I can say for Hillary Clinton. Has she apologized for voting for the War, yet?

I think you set a record for incorrect assumptions in an under-200 poster.

And btw, Mr Fowler, it's "far be it from me". You might try monitoring your own usage rather than turning your nose up at that of others. Of course, I understand it's probably difficult to type with that stick so far up your ass.

11. This is great!
I appreciate ANYONE who talks about ISSUES. Now let's see if others will post the position papers of other candidates.

Here's my take on Obama's positions, with links to my candidate (Kucinich) on the same issues:

Iraq-both candidates say they will move our troops out of Iraq immediately! Kudos to both of them! Obama says that some will remain; Kucinich would withdraw all. Kucinich has already introduced his 12 point plan in the House (see http://www.kucinichonline.com/pdfs/Kucinich_12-pt_Plan.pdf). I hope Obama does the same for his plan.

Health Care-Obama wants to help reduce costs by emphasizing preventative care-kudos for that! My problem with his plan is that it leaves the for-profit insurance industry entrenched and in place. Kucinich's plan would take them out of the business entirely (see http://www.kucinichonline.com/pdfs/Kucinich_Universal_Health_Care.pdf )

These are my two big issues. Thanks for making it easy to compare the stands of your candidate and mine.

14. Yup. Reproductive freedom didn't make the list. LGBT rights are buried, don't qualify as civil right
LGBT peoples' rights to not be fired or evicted, beaten and murdered, or lose their assets those aren't civil rights. Or issues. No, those explanations are under "people". African-Americans/Asian-Americans are both people and ISSUES (civil rights is a domain for racial discrimination only.) Faith is an issue AND people of faith are under people too.

Gay people? We're just 'people'. (but he'll help us out on the DL...)

Apparently Choice isn't an ISSUE either. It's not under FAMILY, but "promoting responsible fatherhood" is. Thanks but my dad was a responsible father without presidential help. You want a nation of better fathers? How about starting with workers rights, good benefits, and a 35 hour work week?

46. you guys just making this shit up as you go along?
Develop the Next Generation of Biofuels: Barack Obama will work to ensure that advanced
biofuels, including cellulosic ethanol, are developed and incorporated into our national supply
as soon as possible. Corn ethanol is the most successful alternative fuel commercially available
in the U.S. today, and we should fight the efforts of big oil and big agri-business to undermine
this emerging industry. But it represents only a drop in the bucket of our energy demands and
making ethanol from corn has some significant limitations. Today we produce about 5 billion
gallons of corn-based ethanol per year while we use about 140 billion gallons of gasoline.
Even if we are able to double – or even triple – production of ethanol from corn this will still
offset only about 10 percent of our gasoline demand. There are also real concerns about
bringing set aside lands into corn production as well as concerns about an increase in the use of
pesticides, water use and upward pressure on the cost of food for people and livestock alike.

These constraints reveal the scope and scale of our energy and environmental challenges.
Obama will invest federal resources, including tax incentives, cash prizes and government
contracts into developing the most promising technologies with the goal of getting the first two
billion gallons of cellulosic ethanol into the system by 2013. Obama will also work to improve
the national supply of advanced biodiesel. From here the Clean Technologies Deployment
Venture Fund will speed the deployment of multiple facilities.

take your pick. energy needs to be burned somehow and alternative fuels can't handle it all quite yet. it's not great, but it's better than what we have now.

47. Obama's payroll tax increase plan is a plan to tax middle class to cover the
money owed to the Social Security Trust Fund by the government which used social security income to the fund to pay for tax cuts for the rich.

Obama has falsely stated that social security is in a crisis due to too many so called "baby boomers" retiring. (This is a Republican false claim also). His "fix" is to unfairly raise the tax on wage earners in the middle and upper middle class while giving them no corresponding benefit increase. this increased tax will hit middle class wage earners in the high-cost of living states and mega cities like NY, San Francisco and LA. It lets off the hook the wealthy who get to keep their incredible tax cuts from the Bush and Regan years.

It is essentially a Republican fix. Tax increases for middle class wage earners, tax forgiveness for Wall Street millionaires.

Obam is receiving incredibly high contributions from Wall Street firms like Goldman Sachs,

This is a shameful proposal especially since Greenspan and Reagan got the social security tax cap increased in the 1980 to fund the same phoney shortfall.
