I keep reading that this race is over, that once again Hillary is on her way toward wrapping up the nomination. To that I say, it isn't over. Is she better off today than she was a week ago? You better believe it. Is Obama worse off today than he was a week ago? No question. But that's exactly why this race is not over. Look at how dramatically different this primary looks when compared to where we stood last Friday. It's entirely different and people can't be naive enough to not expect -- at least anticipate -- that it will change once again.
In less than 10 days Nevada will meet for their caucus. If Obama wins, does he not once again become the perceived frontrunner? If Clinton wins Nevada, but Obama takes South Carolina, is this race any less contested heading into Super Tuesday? For those who are stating it's over and Hillary is the definition of inevitability, you're wrong. This race is far from over because nothing has been decided yet. All we know is that Obama and Clinton both made a comeback and won a state many thought they had no chance of winning. That doesn't sound much like inevitability to me, rather it sounds an awful lot like unpredictability. And that's exactly what this race is.

Now I can't find the thread, which stated Hillary had the nomination locked up. Then there was the post about CNN's national poll showing Hillary with a nice lead.
There are hints that this is over. There are people conceding she will be the nominee. All I'm saying is that it isn't close to being over.

At this stage in the game in 1992, Bill Clinton hadn't won a SINGLE primary.

I'm not saying everyone is, but there are posts talking about it. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x4036261 read that thread. A few there allude to it being over. Then there is this post and the replies. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x4033517So yes, some people are saying it's over. Not everyone, but some. This post was to them.

6. We're in for an old-fashioned primary season |
|
just like we used to have in the 70s and 80s, where the nominee wasn't really known until the last primary ballot was cast.
It'll be like watching a ping-pong match.
