I've got a great idea that won't work!!!! Check it out: |
|
I'm sure everyone is as sick as I am about all this infighting about the candidates. What if we have 2 official forums for each democratic candidate - The first being a POSITIVE side for posting stands on issues, good press, videos, fund raising events, poll numbers, volunteer opportunities and all other positive experiences, etc and give each thread a number...then...if you have a negative response, you have to go to another forum, the NEGATIVE forum for that particular candidate, and post a response or rebuttal or attack or whatever that corresponds with the number of that post in the POSITIVE forum.
In other words, you can't reply negatively to a post in the POSITIVE forum. You can only fight, rebut and attack in the NEGATIVE forum.
No? What if someone lies or misrepresents a candidate in the POSITIVE forum? They may not get the truth unless they go to the negative forum where they're supposed to believe another complete stranger who rebuts the post in the positive forum. Hmmmm.
I guess that's why it won't work. So what are we going to do? Keep fighting?
Maybe we should at the very least take a step back and look at what we are doing. Try to remain calmer and respond to each other with a bit more respect.
Think before you post a reply. Take a 20 second breather. We all need to do that. This place is a zoo.

1. or how about a "Thunderdome" forum that's open and unmoderated |
|
for one hour each day. Just let people really go at it and wear themselves out. It's worked on a forum I help run.

4. We're so filled up with crap that I can't find anything worth paying attention to. |

This is where I usually come for information but the weeds are so high I'm choking.
Is this forum being moderated? No offense meant to any of the mods but most of these posts are out of control. Perhaps we need some stricter rules for the primary months. If a poster isn't adding anything to the thread...I quit posting because someone looking for a fight inevitably attacks. I feel DU has become something that it wasn't meant to be...kinda like our country.
The Thunderdome idea brings many good visuals to mind...I can see the folks suiting up and coming in from the desert in their crazy vehicles, wearing their wild headdresses. What a scene that was!

5. I think that's an excellent idea. |

I like the idea about the positive forum for advocating for your candidate and not criticizing other people's candidates. The negative forum, I imagine, would be plenty busy, but so what? We wouldn't have to go there unless we wanted to.
