Seeking Predictions: When do Giuliani, Thompson, and Hunter drop out? |
|
I think Giuliani drops out shortly after he comes up way short on Super Tuesday, Thompson drops out shortly after he falls way short in South Carolina, and Hunter drops out before South Carolina.
Anyone else have any thoughts?

1. can't disagree with that at all. |
|
In fact, I wrote exactly the same thing in a post earlier this morning. Oops, just noticed your Hunter prediction; I don't see him dropping out in the next 4 days. I think Thompson drops out on Sunday and Rudy on 2/6.

7. I see Hunter perhaps realizing that his maximum influence at this point is to endorse someone before |

South Carolina instead of waiting until he wins 0% - 1% of the SC vote.
If he doesn't drop out this week, I must presume he falsely believes his base in California may turn out for him and boost him into the top tier. He's crazy, but I don't think he's that crazy.
If Hunter stays in through SC, he probably drops out Feb. 6.

3. If Giuliani can't win in Florida, and he stubbornly refuses to drop out, he'll |
|
become the most pathetic political figure of our lifetimes.
The average 6th grader could have run a better campaign than whoever's in charge of Rudy's.
Maybe even a below-average 6th grader.
Thompson will maybe have a look at the South Carolina results and if they're as dismal for him as I suspect, that may be the end of the trail for Fred.
Duncan Hunter appears to be wandering around the world without any purpose whatsoever. I seriously doubt if he knows if he's still in the race officially. There's a sign on his back that says, "I'd make a pretty good neutral veep choice if Lieberman's not available."

Giuliani drops out if he can't win Florida...
If he can't win there he can't win anywhere with the exception of the three state metro NY area which even that looks dubious...
He's a horrible campaigner...Senator Bill Nelson nailed it " He doesn't look like a president... He doesn't act like a president... He doesn't talk like a president..."

6. Yep. Bill Nelson got that exactly right, didn't he? I realize at one point Rudy |
|
had some good numbers in Florida, but that feels like a lifetime ago.
I'm just not sure he remains viable now, after several weeks of his GOP opponents grabbing all the headlines.
If Florida Republicans pick others in that primary, I think Rudy's toast.

4. Giuliani may win Florida - which will make for a messy primary on that side |
|
I hope he does really poorly in NYC - in fact I hope that anyone - even Mccain beats him here. THAT would be the end of him.
