The Crying Game, Part Deux : Hillary Clinton Addresses Bill's Infidelity on 'Tyra Banks Show'
Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 09:57 PM by JackORoses

http://www.etonline.com/news/2008/01/57446/index.html

Democratic presidential hopeful HILLARY CLINTON showed her emotional side on her recent visit to the "TYRA BANKS Show" -- even reaching for the tissues as she spoke to the talk show host about husband BILL CLINTON's affair with MONICA LEWINSKY, it was reported by People.com.

"I really had to dig down deep and think hard about what was right for me, what was right for my family," the senator from New York told Tyra about the events of that time. "I never doubted Bill's love for me ever, and I never doubted my faith and my commitment to our daughter and our extended family."

Clinton, who had to publicly deal with the aftermath of her husband's relationship with the White House intern, went on to say she discovered it was important not to make decisions in the heat of the moment: "The momentary feelings ... you know, you are mad, you are really upset, you are disappointed .... all of that goes through your mind."

When asked what she would advise other women in a similar situation, Clinton replied: "I say you have to be true to yourself. No one story is the same as any other story. I don't know your reality. I can't possibly substitute my judgment for yours. You have to do what is right for you and that may not be what anybody else believes."

She knows all their is to know about the Crying Game...

ahhh, the Old Cheated on Wife Maneuver

The Hits just keep comin'!

That is fairly despicable.

25. Don't see it that way, but how would that differ from Obama sharing his emotion on his past battles
with substance abuse?

They both had to dig deep within themselves to overcome huge personal obstacles.

Why does one deserve derision while the other deserves understanding?

You seem to know a hell of a lot about things that can't really be known.

Why she stayed with Bill, and endured the hell she did, she explained very well, imho.

Why should I doubt her word about her personal life?

52. Well, everybody's got one. I remember the viscious attacks on them, both of them
when Bill was president, and a damn good president.

The mud and rocks and arrows flew from day one.

I remember that.

Many would have packed up and said fuck it.

They didn't.

They stood and were still standing til the end.

I admire that.

Strength in the face of overwhelming adversity.

I saw it.

I'll never forget it.

It's increased in frequency recently, especially since the supposed "crying" incident.

It's usually of the "I can't respect her because she stayed with Bill" variety.

Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 10:12 PM by Big Blue Marble
That does not mean that it is healthy. Lot's of wives stay with alcoholics and abusers as well. And that is not healthy either.
When women stay, it is usually because they do not have the economic resources to leave.
And FYI, many women in this county are unhappy about her choice to stay with him. Some like me
on this board. I would be a lot more interested in her candidacy, had she left him. That would have
shown tremendous courage.

She is indicating that was an isolated incident in their marriage instead an ongoing pattern.

I'm not seeing what's wrong with this appearance or what they talked about. Also, unless you think Hillary fed Tyra the questions, then I don't see where it was any kind of maneuver.

There are more substantial things to criticize Hillary for than this.

Face it!

If she were any other woman who had stayed with a man who cheated again and again, we'd all be talking about what a horrible example she is setting for her daughter.

Forgiveness of an affair or period of infidelity (think "mid life crisis  ) when the partner is truly repentant is a little different from living with a serial cheater, who - by all accounts - still hasn't changed his spots.
