Oh Dear God: I Just Realized I Love Rush Limbaugh.
Edited on Fri Jan-18-08 08:04 PM by MannyGoldstein
I was telling someone today that Rush Limbaugh changed America. Then it struck me: I think Limbaugh changed America, therefore I must love him!

I always thought I hated Limbaugh, but clearly I was fooling myself. C'est la vie.

Also, a question: I think that Hitler changed Germany, and I like visiting Germany - even have some relatives there. Does that mean I love Hitler too? Your opinions are appreciated. Depending on the answers I get, I might have to join the skinheads.

5. I found that I agree with Senator Bond today
at least on one issue. The Air Force doesn't need the F22 and instead should buy more F15's at a lower cost, replacing those that are falling out of the sky or grounded due to age. It's not like anyone can really best the design anyway so why do we need a newer fighter?

10. We wouldn't need many planes at all
if we quit poking our noses into other country's business.

16. I absolutely agree with you
and think that Pentagon spending should be halved and then halved again, but we sure don't need F22's and 35's.

:hi:

14. You might not have intended it, but you picked a good comparison.

Limbaugh is a talented broadcaster. Of course he lies constantly, turns neighbor against neighbor, spews venom and hate... but he is a skilled broadcaster. And he changed the country. Do I wish that Air America could make a change in the country of the same scope as Limbaugh? Damn right I do, but for our side. Not the way Limbaugh did it, but our way. That shouldn't be so hard to understand. And it shouldn't mean that people try to pretend that I support Rush Limbaugh for saying so.

8. As I have said over and over again...
It wasn't the change comment. It was his logic in stating that Reagan ran an optimistic campaign and his election was a result of excesses of the 60s and 70s. I would like to know what he considers excesses because I do know that Ronnie ran a cynical campaign in order to appeal to bigots who were afraid of the gains that women and minorities had made.

It is also not true that Reagan united the country. His approval ratings were no better or worse than most any president in the 20th century and about on par with Clinton's.

There has been a PR campaign waged by the right wing to rehabilitate Reagan by flat out lying about both his approval record and his mass appeal. I resent a Democratic candidate buying into that PR and catapulting the propaganda.

Now you think there would be nothing wrong if Obama wanted to be more like Hitler or Rush Limbaugh.

Brilliant!

13. I think Lee Mercer Jr. really addressed this most effectively
There is some concern about what public policy has done from August 22, 1992 until now with the United States of America’s Government evidencing its government, protecting its government and its citizens in the United States Army Military Intelligence Academy Camp Bullis San Antonio, Texas – University of Texas ROTC Lee L. Mercer, Jr. A definition for public policy used from the internet Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia explanation is: Public policy is a course of action or inaction chosen by public authorities to address a problem. Public policy is expressed in the body of laws, regulations, decisions and actions of government. Policy analysis may be used to formulate public policy and to evaluate its effectiveness. Many public policy analysts earn Ph.D., Master of Public Policy and Master of Public Administration degrees in public policy schools, while others earn specialized degrees, such as an M.Ed for specializing in educational policy or an MSW for specializing in social welfare policy.
