Now that Edwards is no longer viable |
|
Why support Edwards?
If you support single payer health care, if you support ending the war in Iraq, if you support cutting the military budget, if you support ending American imperialism throughout the world, why support Edwards?
It used to be that Edwards was the most progressive viable, blah, blah, blah candidate. The Edwards supporters would keep pointing to his nebelous anti-corporate rhetoric.
There is a candidate in this race with a clear progressive record. This candidate is not John Edwards. Now that Edwards has so little chance to win, why not make your vote count clearly on important issues?

4. You're right... His delegate count means nothing... |

His message means nothing...
None of this means anything...
:eyes:
My life is crap right now. Statistics say I will probably never 'Succeed'. Should I just 'drop-out', or keep fighting...

6. What will Edwards delegate count stand for? |
|
It will stand for some quite nebelous change.
Besides some rather meaningless anti-corporate rhetoric, there is not a dime's worth a difference between Edwards and Obama and Hillary. Hillary and Obama have a better understanding of the issues however.
I watched the last debate. It was three peas in a pod.

10. It's a valid point about what moves us to vote. Still Gravel for me. |
|
It was a toss between him and DK, but what decided it was this: When only Gravel was excluded from debates, DK said nothing. I still like him, but I like Gravel better.

11. The support for Edwards is so completely beyond my understanding |
|
I happen to care about ending the war in Iraq.
I happen to care about single payer health care.
Voting for Edwards does not advance either cause.

15. Edwards is the best candidate. I am talking to the voters |
|
in my area about how Edwards differs from the corporate mouthpieces, Obama and Hillary. That's why. Because Edwards speaks for me and the working people who live in my part of L.A. We are the forgotten.

This shows that Edwards cannot possibly have a very deep understanding of the issues.
How can Edwards make all these changes on all these issues if he really understood the issues in the first place?

|
Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 10:02 PM by Heaven and Earth
There is a connection there that goes beyond just dropping a ballot in a box. Therefore, tearing Edwards down does you no favors with them, especially right now. Don't you realize we've heard these arguments before, adnd rejected them? You aren't selling your candidate, you're acting entitled, and that makes you arrogant. Like someone else above said, you do your candidate no favors.

30. Issues are more important to me than my candidate |
|
During this primary Edwards has clouded the important issues, particularly single payer and the Iraq war. But really all the rest also.
It is only by getting past Edwards that we can get an honest discussion.

|
Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 10:21 PM by Heaven and Earth
You aren't invested in your candidate, so you don't understand the mentality of people who are. That means you aren't the person to create such a discussion, if discussion there needs to be. I for one, have already caucused, but even if I hadn't, I would have much less interest in discussing those issues with you because of the way you are approaching this. Go back, get a more empathic and understanding attitude, drop the arrogant entitlement, and try it again, if you have an open mind and are truly committed to your issues. Otherwise, this is just about your ego, and you should probably get out of the way for others who would do this better than you.

25. Edwards represents ME and MY concerns |
|
I don't like Clinton's DLC connections, and Obama hasn't impressed me at ALL.
I resent the MULTI-MILLION DOLLARS in our federal elections. "WE the People" have been silenced by our own Party. We have been marginalized by the DLC. They took over OUR PARTY and forced it into a centrist/RW mouthpiece for their Corporate Slave Masters.
Even if Edwards has little chance to win, I'm sticking it out with him.
Why not make your vote count clearly on important issues?
My vote won't count anyway, but I'll still go through the motions and will vote for the CANDIDATE that clearly represents my important issues.
Thanks for your concern tho.

|
Aren't there forty six other states?
"Not viable" means he's out of money, which I don't think is the case.
I do wish people who are greedy to grab delegates for their particular heroes would simply let the process play out.
You'll sound a little more like you know what you're talking about after Super Tuesday. Right now you don't.
