JE "failure to launch" Clinton "RatPack" Obama "Waiting to Exhale"
JE has been on the National scene since what....02 03???? Not winning yet anywhere, not taking off with any kind of momentum????? JE has charisma, good looks, great speaker - great (?) story....yet he is showing middling at best - why? Maybe because he isn't as "charismatic, great speaking and appealingly good looking" to people outside of DU, where I see him heralded as the 2nd coming....... He certainly never connected to me and I (unlike many voters) looked at his record in the Senate and really cared about his ORIGINAL vote and co sponsor of the IWR as well as the Patriot Act, Bankruptcy, Yucca Mountion.... Most voters don't even look at that...I guess he just really is not as charismatic as some would like to think, I guess his message isn't touching hearts as much as he would like..... I am frankly relieved, because I don't know which JE would actually show up in the WH if he were elected and anybody who is POSITIVE that they know is ....well....a bit too trusting.

Clinton on the other hand, somewhat had my support. After all, why not a woman in the WH????? She is certainly knowledgeable enough and smart enough. After the 90's and the way that they Clinton's were crucified I was hoping that Hillary would get in the WH and of course bring Bill to just spite all of the assholes that made it their lives work to attack them in the 90's.... I became dismayed when I saw Bill and George (I) paling around together so much though. As a Democratic leader, I expected him to stand up for us and speak out against GWB II and the policies that were being enacted. No, he was pretty quiet and basically serving as goodwill ambassador with GB I, instead of actually continuing as a Democratic Leader. Meanwhile, MSM started talking about HRC being the inevitable Democratic Nominee 2 years ago, before the race began and before HRC even decided (?) to run. I began to feel like this was being shoved down our throats - so after a while, I regurgitated it back up. Where was the integrity of Bill? Where was the leadership of Bill? I don't care that he was a "former" President, he is still active and he is still vocal when it comes to defending himself and speaking up for his wife. Self serving, not public serving.

HRC is now NOT someone I can actively support for POTUS. Not that I question her capability....but I do - in a big way - have come to question the INTEGRITY of the Clintons and their seeming friendship with the Bushs......I now believe that HRC will continue on with some of what Bush has done...... She will SAY what sounds good, but what she does will be a bit different if she gets into the WH.

Obama, is holding his own. Coming into the national spotlight way after Clinton and way after JE, he has made impressive strides. He does stand for hope in that he as an African American can break thru another wall that we must crumble. He was on the right side of the Iraq question from the beginning. Even though he is my Senator, I really don't know as much about him and his potential as I would like to. He is newer to the National Scene and we are watching him to learn more about him. On surface - he looks great, but for myself, I need more time and a more in depth observation on him. The next many months will tell me much.

As you can see, there is no one that has my heart and my head as of yet in the Democratic Party. Gore was the only one that could have claimed both. I guess expecting another candidate as formidable as Gore would have been asking too much. But I wait and I watch and when it comes time to vote for POTUS, I will vote, but this time - yet again - it may be a vote against the GOP rather than a vote being made with passion and hope.

1. Clinton & Obama will self -destruct
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 12:17 PM by OzarkDem
voters will be sick of them by the time the GE rolls around. Its a long way to November and its a marathon, not a sprint. Though I'm glad Obama and Clinton are sprinting.

2. they may
but at this point, Edwards certainly isnt going to be the beneficiary, and it appears voters are none too enamoured of him even at this point.

4. His results so far in the elections and the polls in S Carolina are not
in support of your candidate being the best choice - people are not buying into what he is selling.

5. We still disagree
Its very early and the polls have been very unreliable. Primaries are not like the GE. Obama and Clinton will burn out with voters eventually - especially as they have to prove their worth and honesty (or lack thereof) in the Senate every day.

Sorry, dude, we're in it for the long haul. Its a marathon not a sprint.

6. South Carolina being a loss for JE will not matter than?????
Or, does it matter? Surely S Carolina knows all about JE w/o the msm's influence, right?

7. No, we're in it to the convention
primaries are very different than the GE, things can change. I'm backing the candidate I believe has the best agenda, best experience and best chance to win the GE. All the other Edwards supporters feel the same way. There's a very clear distinction between Dem candidates this time.
