Poll question: Why would Bill-Hillary Clinton, who were BOTH wrong from the START question Obama's Iraq Stance?
Edited on Thu Jan-24-08 12:02 AM by FrenchieCat
It's like, why would the ones with the worse record on Iraq even attempt to call out someone who was more correct on the war than they could dream to be?

What's is that even about?

"That's why I supported the Iraq thing." Bill Clinton, June 23, 2004 (CNN)

"I opposed the war in Iraq from the beginning." Bill Clinton, 11/27/2007, (NYT)

1. "We wrong, but you didn't fix it, so you're no good!"
That seems to be the position.

5. The big Rove lesson was to go after a person's strength instead of their weakness.

6. I voted for "it's a topsy turvy world"
Because it's a topsy turvy world when Bill Clinton is playing right out of the Rove 2000 handbook with Rove's favorite topsy-turvy trick---accuse your opponent of precisely what you are doing. Exaggerate their retaliation, and if they don't retaliate, act like they did!

12. Yes, Obama opposed the Iraq war in 2002 and 2003.
And then in 2007 he posted this on his website:

Under the Obama plan, American troops may remain in Iraq or the region. These American troops will protect American diplomatic and military personnel in Iraq, and continue striking at al Qaeda in Iraq. If Iraq makes political progress and their security forces are not sectarian, we would also continue training othe Iraqi Security Forces.
-- Barack Obama: Turning the Page in Iraq. BarackObama.com

He's going to leave tens of thousands of US troops in Iraq to fight, in his words, "al Qaeda in Iraq."

If he was still the same man he was in 2002 and 2003, I'd support him. Now he's sporting a plan that is no different from Bush. Edwards and Hillary both are better on Iraq.

16. "You know, everybody makes mistakes"
Obviously he thinks we're as stupid as Bush.

On the yellowcake lie, the biggest whopper told on Iraq.

"I thought the White House did the right thing in just saying 'we probably shouldn't have said that,' " Clinton told CNN's Larry King in a phone interview Tuesday evening.

"You know, everybody makes mistakes when they are president," Clinton said. "I mean, you can't make as many calls as you have to make without messing up once in awhile. The thing we ought to be focused on is what is the right thing to do now. That's what I think."
