|
The last time a major state paper endorsed Hillary she came in 3rd place ie des moines register, next thing you know they'll come out with a poll showing obama leading by 12 points, then hillary will say, where have i seen this movie before.

Is the media.
You could be right on this.
I think all this early chatter is worthless for the most part. Wait until Super Tuesday... could be a whole new horse race;)

19. Bye Keith Olbermann Hello Dan Abrams |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-24-08 08:42 PM by neutron
Olbermann joined Matthews in the relentless, mindless attacks on the Clintons.
It really sucked when KO kept bashing Clinton for the Fairy Tale line, but never showed the full monologue,. Dan Abrams finally showed it and it was innocuous. Pure media hype. CNN has been screaming racism relentlessly. It's too weird. The right wing wants Obama because they've probably got some big goods on him.
At any rate, so long, Olbermann. I was your fan before you were fashionable but I can no longer stomach looking at your pious, dishonest puss.
Abrams is the only cable news show that we watch now. And we're about to drop to cable altogether.

I'm pretty disillusioned with the media in general and certain folks like Oberman who I thought was fair.
He's just as bad as the rest of them.
CNN is crazy. I couldn't believe what they were saying today. The worst one is Jack Cafferty. That guy is a nutjob.

8. The NYT isn't what it used to be in the heyday of papers. |
|
Not to mention that their support, even cheer-leading, for the war in Iraq (Judith Miller ring any bells?) has caused the reputation of this paper among progressives and liberals to take a real beating.
And it's still a NY centric Newspaper... always has been. Do you really think they would endorse someone from another state?
If Bloomberg had entered, and they had 3 NY identified politicians running for office, it might have been interesting. But right now, it's just Hillary and Ghouliani... both of whom support the war in Iraq and both of whom have unquestioned support for Israel. One is a centrist to right leaning Democrat and the other is a very right leaning (to the point of falling over) republican.
Why would anyone expect them to endorse anyone other than Hillary?

95% of the U.S. would say that the NY Times is a liberal publication. It's apparent that the remaining 5% of the people who don't think the NY Times is a liberal publication all post on Democratic Underground.
Judith Miller was definitely a pro-war journalist at the New York Times, but she was in the minority. Have any of you ever read the NY Times, or would you rather take one person and try to stereotype a whole newspaper?
Unreal.

That's fine--argue with him. Come back with lavishly linked litanies of your candidate's swell accomplishments. Cite all the awards the Times has won and its credentials as a liberal newspaper. Hell: tell him his slogan is as empty as he claims your candidate is.
What happened? Well, first your homegirl calls him Captain Poopypants, and then this dogpile on me for calling her out begins. Believe me, I can take it. But can your campaign?

It's spelled analyst.

66. I have no problem with her doing well |
|
My problem is with you and your behavior on this site. I mean, the only candidate I agree with generally never had a chance of winning. I didn't come here to fight for one person or against another. When I see a pattern of such appalling behavior from one side in particular, though, I have to think: do we want these people in charge for the next four years? Do we really want to empower them? You act no different than the Bushies in the lead up to 2000.

I mean, this shit makes Hillary people (if you are what you say) look REALLY REALLY bad. I'm assuming this carries over from some other thread, but nothing the person you are attacking says here warrants such a torrent of abuse.

101. The sad part is, I have no personal history with this person. |
|
If I had ever been in a flame war with this idiot, I'd understand the juvenile taunt. But this is the first time I've ever even seen his/her screen name. Clearly, I haven't been missing much. Even as far as taunts go, it's kind of a pathetic non-sequitur. It's almost like they are too slow to figure out an appropriate way to insult my point, so they just picked a random insulting picture that a more talented person made and posted it. I do wonder if the other guy was any more clever than his friend, but due to my liberal use of the ignore feature I guess I'll never know.

She only got the seat in 2000 because we all dearly wanted to piss off right-wing America. Unfortunately, the rest of the Democrats didn't get it was a joke.

64. The NYT has been carrying water for Hillary for months now |
|
I remember when they broke the story about Obama being "present" many times while in the Illinois State Legislature... is a percentage rate of a little over 3% "many times". The article itself read like a Hillaryworld press release.
As for them mentioning in the endorsement that the NYT was "always against the Iraq War", maybe they forgot who Judy Miller is.
I like the NYT and read it every morning when I get a chance. I can't wait to see the Letters To The Editor on this issue.
Congrats to the Clinton team.
