I think it is now quite possible Dems will have a brokered convention |
|
Clinton, Obama and Edwards will each continue to attain delegates--nobody will go into the convention with a majority. Relations between Clinton and Obama could be even worse. If it comes to that do the Dems nominate a weakened candidate or do they seek out somebody who has the authority to take charge of the party and unite it?...Maybe Al Gore?

2. The reason I doubt this.... |

They've all worked so hard so far. By the time of the convention, it will be even more energy and life put into the campaign. I would be surprised if Gore would feel good about walking in like a red herring deal.

9. I was even thinking about that if Edwards turned out to be our AG |
|
I just lost Kucinich today, so be gentle.
But I was thinking when earlier someone talked about Obama asking Edwards to be his Attorney General. Wouldn't it be lovely if John could go after the election fraud in all it's many faces - the machines, the disenfranchisement? Better as president, you would say. But no matter how - poetic justice is definitely in our future.

10. Do you know who I was thinking about for AG ... Robert Kennedy Jr. That |
|
would be good. I had heard he wanted to run for senate in NY ... just as his dad did. But, his dad was also AG. I really want Bobby Kennedy as AG. He is so good on Ring of Fire and we need that kind of person to take over after these criminals are thrown out.
Pass it along .. Bobby Kennedy for AG!

3. EVERYBODY needs to vote for their first choice to force a brokered |

convention. Don't be swayed by polls or the latest frontrunner. Vote for your first choice if they are still on the ballot.

7. Hillary wins by a hair after forcing the party to seat Mich and Florida delegates |
|
Bloomberg enters the race on a "stop Hillary" platform, with Obama as his running mate.
Bill Clinton explodes soon after.

12. And what is wrong with that? |
|
I find it amazing that everyone expects the parties - both - to have a front runner, a nominee after Iowa and New Hampshire, or willing to extend it to Nevada and South Caroline. OK, add Michigan and Florida that for us are beauty contest, and we have all of 6 states voting with, what, 2% of the voters?
Why, then, bother with primaries if the goal is to have voters determining the nominee?
I remember in the summer of 2003 I was at a Democratic gathering and Mondale suggested that we should have our nominee as early as possible. So we got Kerry fast, without much of attacks on him and he was clearly not ready for "prime time."
