If I left the party everytime my choice lost the nomination |
|
I'd have run out of parties in 1988.
By now I'd have to have joined the Tajikistani People's Democratic Christian Liberation Party.
Grow up, people. Most people's candidate doesn't win the nomination. Get over it.

I don't think I've ever picked a winner. I should belong to the Martian Freedom Party by now.

agreed entirely. Since I was old enough to vote 20 years ago, my primary choice has been the nominee exactly ONCE (Dukakis in 1988). And by the time of the general election, I was so pissed off at his crappy campaign that I had to hold my nose to vote for him.
We're Democrats. We lose elections. That's life.

Time and again, I've been disappointed, but I've NEVER sat out of an election, sucking my thumb and caressing my blankie, simply because my candidate didn't win the nomination.

Do people want President Romney or President McCain? The only way to not have that is to vote for the nominee, regardless if it is Clinton or Obama.

didn't win.
I have seen people say they are leaving the party if Hill gets the nomination, though.
That's not at all the same thing.
Do you have a link to someone saying they are leaving the party if their candidate doesn't win?

just most likely not the party's presidential nominee. I have always believed it is important to split your ticket. You want me to vote my heart don't you?
