year? Also, can you share a website about this event? Do you have to be a delegate? I know virtually nothing about how one might participate.
It sounds like fun to me.

4. Maybe it's time for a 'brawl' ... too much complacency, pandering,
positioning, and acquiescence to the status quo. It's gotten to the point where anyone even the least bit left of Bush & Co is seen/labeled a Socialist, for crying out loud. What happened to the party?

13. No I'd have to go if asked ... not that I'm looking to be

I'm keeping a low profile, this time around. I'm way too disillusioned to get excited about the convention at this point.

But, if by some miracle the party finds some courage and acts more like the party I (and, many others) expect it to be, I might participate - but, it would be at the regional level - I have no desire to deal with the machinations that go on at a state/national level, again, - for a long, long, time - if ever.

9. Hey! I'm seriously thinking of going if I can find some like minded
people. Now would be the time to make some plans. I'd just love to breathe it all in.

7. they had Delegate training here in Fort Bend County last weekend
Basically you need to go to the precinct, then state sentate district (county conventions) and the state convention to be selected unless you have an in with a campaign. There is a form you need to fill out and even then the candidate you are supporting has the right to approve you.

10. Check with your Dem Party
Here's a link with the rules for Texas:

http://www.txdemocrats.org/the_party/article_vii_national_delegate_selection_rules

I think it's similar in most states that you have to be elected as a delegate of your precinct, then attend the county convention, then the state, etc. -- at each step of the way, you have to participate as an elected delegate to qualify to become a national delegate.

By the way, I grew up in Houston! Alief, actually, which was annexed after I left the state. :hi:

11. But are political fans allowed in? Can I pose as media?

And I'm a New Yawker by birth, and, GO GIANTS! :hi:

Sorry, I can be a smartass, and thanks for the info. I don't qualify. I have no inspiration in TX at the moment. I was excited to get Dems elected, specifically replacing DeLay with Lampson, but he's not been impressive to me.

...and the fact it may be brokered.
