BREAKING: Clinton campaign to sideline Billo, he proved to be too divisive
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 07:04 AM by Nimrod2005
When his wife's campaign is trying to project unity...etc. I am sure he is doing it because he loves her soooo much and he is very "LOYAL" to her.

Whatever the reason, this will be good for his wife and the country.

After Obama Victory, Clinton’s Camp Seeks Gentler Role for Ex-President

These Clinton advisers expressed concern that the specter of a co-candidacy and co-presidency could bring back elements of the Clinton history that many Democrats would just as soon leave behind.

Jan. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Senator Hillary Clinton defended her husband's role in her presidential campaign and said it will continue.

``He is going to continue to be with me and support me and speak out for me,'' Clinton said the day after Senator Barack Obama beat her in South Carolina's Democratic primary by a margin of more than 2-to-1. ``I'm really glad that he's there with me, and I think everybody just needs to take a deep breath,'' she said.

12. If Bill had "taken a deep breath" maybe she wouldn't have this dilemma

14. You presume it IS a dilemma
Bill and Hillary know more about politics than you or I ever will.

16. Bill Clinton has hurt Hillary's chances in more than one way....
1) It backfired in SC
2) It may have played a role in Ted Kennedy's endorsement of Obama
3) If Clinton gets the nomination, it is now a given that the African American vote will not be as enthusiastic about the Clintons. Those that vote will favor Dems, but fewer will participate.
4) It has greatly reduced BC's respect as a statesman. Now he is viewed more as a politician.
5) Hillary tries to be viewed on her own merits but Bill's presence sorta diminishes that. Sure he should help his spouse, but the manner with which he has done it is stirring up the race issue, hurting the Democratic Party, and hurting Hillary's campaign both short term and long term.

Yes, he knows a lot about politics. So does George Bush. Doesn't make what he says any more valid when he plays dirty like he has.

10. I don't think this constitutes "sidelining" Bill Clinton.
He will still be out there. Yes, Obama won SC but she is still in the lead in national polls. It looks like they are just going to focus on the Feb. 5th races. He may tone it down a bit, but he will still be all over the place. It is their strategy to keep him out there and we will have to see if it works.
