Let there be no doubt:
There is nothing so absolutely and aggressively pathetic in American politics as those happy warriors who tonight came to believe that the most convincing argument they could make about the unsuitability of a candidate for the Presidency was a handshake.

I understand that when you're out of ammunition, it can be smart strategy to fire blanks, just to make the other guys keep their heads down. Y'all are out of blanks and screaming "bang."

5. Desperation can be very ugly to watch.
I do not know who is going to win this nomination. I do know that is much
closer than the Clinton supporters ever imagined. That is difficult for them.

Wait until tomorrow night, when HRC wins Florida. You will not be able to stand this place then either.

25. Let me assure you Obama supporters are not feeling desperate tonight.
We are not over-confident by any means. This primary season has a long way to go.
There will be more ups and downs for all of us.

I mainly stayed away from the silly handshake thing. I know after the great day
that Obama had yesterday, it was easy to stir the vitriol around here.
But on second thought that happens everyday.

We do not have enough information to know what really happened or what Obama's
or Hillary's feelings or intentions were. We probably will never know.

It is so easy to speculate when you have an agenda. Just let it go already.

Like a bunch of lab rats waiting for our next hit of crack.

No wonder they report on garbage all day, cause we don't ask them for anything else.

10. It is getting very desperate out there for some
By any standard Obama has mastered the news cycle and has dominated the news for 3 straight days. Given that there were only 10 days to super Tuesday it was pretty significant.

Handshake?

I am still waiting for Hillary's South Carolina concession speech.

12. You're not allowing for how a lot of Americans vote
this is EXACTLY the kind of character cue they look for. None of us have no way of knowing if this will have a major impact, but elections have turned on less. Reagan getting steamed and saying "I paid for this microphone" basically won him the nomination. "You're likable enough, Hillary" no matter how the Obama team wants to deny it, probably had enough of an impact to make a dent in New Hampshire. We'd like to believe that most Americans follow issues and vote their brain. They don't.

14. It isn't about a handshake
Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 02:09 AM by busymom
It is about childish, petty, unsportsmanship behavior by someone who believes that he can unify the party by bringing hope and change to the party. If he can't reach across to his opponent who offers him her hand, how will he reach out to the republicans? And really...he just showed some of his true colors today...interpret that how you choose. I found it unbecoming and it certainly solidified Clinton as #1 for me.

24. That's the scary part.
If the supporters around tonight are any indication, they seem more willing to shake hands with republicans than with the half of Dems that support Hillary.

an olive branch and Obama told her to stick it in not so many words.

You brush it off as irrelevant because Obama is your man. You are in DENIAL.

Obama was as rude as the day is long and he needs to get the hell over himself! Because if that's his attitude, good luck if he's elected because he will be another * -steamrolling everyone who gets in his way! :puke:
