I'm so sick of Clinton vs. Obama. Praying for an Edwards Super Tuesday Surprise! |
|
I respect and admire both Senator Clinton and Senator Obama.
And for a while, I battled which will be my second choice candidate.
Now that I've solidified my support for John Edwards and said I'll support him till the bitter end, that combined with the negative tone of the two 100 million dollar candidates is really turning me off. I certainly will support the nominee, and think both Senators' are good candidates and good people. But I'm so sick and tired of this Clinton vs. Obama.
It's not just DU. Sure, I get tired of the Clinton people vs. Obama people.
But it's everything.
It's the cocaine use. The race baiting. The dirty tactics. The snubbed handshake. The bashes at working on the board of Wal-Mart. The bashes towards Obama for taking money from Rezko. The fact that Bill Clinton has to be used as an attack dog. The Jesse Jackson comment.
And my god, so much more.
Barack Obama said he wouldn't run a textbook Washington campaign, and he'd promote the politics of hope. Well, he has ran a textbook Washington campaign. And he's promoting the politics of hope still in his rhetoric, but that's only followed him and his campaigns vicious and sometimes unfair attacks on Senator Clinton.
Hillary Clinton promised in 2007, she wouldn't attack her opponents and instead would talk about the issues. Well, she is talking about the issues. And more than Barack. But she's coming after Obama full force, and using Bill Clinton whose as tenacious as they come to advance those attacks because he can be more effective and he's more trusted by Democrats within the party.
It's just getting ugly, and nasty.
And the media is orgasming over it. DU is going back and forth with "He started it" and "She started it" like high school kids who just got into a fight and the teachers asking who started the whole thing. So much finger pointing. And the Clinton and Obama campaigns are engaging in the same low and nasty politics because neither campaign can find a clear path to the nomination, so they're blooding each other up hoping to knock each other out.
And where's the third man in this race? First off, YES there are THREE people in this race.
John Edwards is going from town to town, state to state promoting his message and presenting solutions.
He isn't trying to draw blood. He isn't getting caught up in the media promoted battle of the Democratic candidates. He isn't focusing on handshakes or anything insane like that.
He's simply out talking to voters, making his case, and touching the hearts and souls of people who need a voice in Washington.
So I'm praying for a miracle on Super Tuesday.
I'm sick of the Obama campaign. And sick of the Clinton campaign.
I respect both too much to sit by and continue to watch the shit hit the fan.
I'm voting for the grown-up in the mix. And I'm praying that Senator Edwards pulls out a Super Miracle next Tuesday night.

over handshakes and whatnot. It makes you hate them all. Go, John. Considering the pettiness lately, he does appear to be the adult.

I want a "grown-up" in the whitehouse, not some spoiled brat that has to act like our two "frontrunners", and whine and cry like a child when things get tough.
Why can't they grow up and talk about the issues instead of fighting like cats and dogs?

7. Don't forget the snarky supporters on both sides... |
|
Anyone who attracts that much snark in personalities can't be all good.
And before you slam me, any of you, this is far less silly a reason to NOT vote for either one of them than most of the reasons you snarkites give FOR voting for them.
I've already voted... EDWARDS!!! The ballot went in the mail today.

9. The snarky supporters on all THREE sides |
|
There are plenty of vitriolic Edwards supporters here, too, who like to bash both Obama and Clinton. In fact, I've noticed some of them among the worst offenders.
One might mention, as well, that a few dozen snarkers on an internet posting site do not reflect the populace at large. In case you hadn't noticed, the support for candidates here does not at all match that in the voting public at large.

11. The Obama/Clinton snarkites far outnumber |
|
Any Edwards supporters here... so much so that I have yet to see one vitriolic (most overused word on DU) post from an Edwards supporter. And I try to hit all the Edwards support threads and have been caught in my fair share of skirmishes with the Obamaites and Clintonians.

21. Some people think their sh*t don't stink ... |
|
But, newsflash, it smells as bad as the next guy's. You've never seen a bashing post from an Edwards supporter here? You're not reading, then. And it's laughable to say that Obama and Clinton supporters outnumber Edwards supporters here. Doesn't he win all the straw polls? There must be 10,000 "I love JE" posts every day.

I agree. The republicans are having a field day with all this crap, and will use it against them if the get the nomination. It won't be a prett site at all!

16. If either is the nominee, Republicans already got talking points. Guess what? Provided from Dem's. |
|
The Clinton campaign has already dug up enough dirt against Obama for the GOP to use.

It's Rove politics recycled by the two frontrunners in the Democratic field.

17. I'm weary of superior self-righteous Edwards supporters |
|
quite frankly with their line about how anyone who's supporting someone other than Edwards is just a mindless consumer of MSM crap and is buying into a corporate candidate. And I'm sick of the baloney grown up meme too. Edwards was a pitbull as recently as the NH debate, and I have no doubt whatsoever he'd be mixing it up if he was a competitive candidate.
