Two things about Edwards goodbye speech |
|
First, he said he was "suspending" his campaign. Lawyers choose words carefully. To me, this means he's going to run again.
Second, I was a little startled to hear the following:
"There was a minister there who comes every morning and feeds the homeless out of her own pocket. She said she has no money left in her bank account, she struggles to be able to do it, but she knows it's the moral, just and right thing to do."
Well I like John Edwards (not as much as Kucinich but he's miles ahead of Hillary/Obama), but shouldn't he be embarrassed just a little bit to talk about his life work to end poverty and using this woman spending her last dime to feed the poor, and he's sitting on some thirty five million dollars, much of which was earned in a hedge fund of all places?
I just found that a bit jarring and I'm throwing it out there.

3. Actually, he made at least half of his fortune since he left the Congress |
|
and he made millions and millions off his hedge fund investments.

2. How do you know he didn't give her money? |
|
I don't know, and I'm sure you don't. John doesn't seem like the type to brag about it if he did.
