Why is it so hard for Hillary Clinton to admit that she was wrong on Iraq? |
|
Hillary would not admit that tonight, and I honestly think it would be good for her to say that she was wrong in the election. Everyone knows that people make mistakes and when they admit them, people for the most part are sympathetic. It makes absolutely no sense. John Edwards admitted he was wrong, so why can't she?

They would grill her on this.
They cannot do that to Obama. They would actually have to defend the War, itself.

If Obama and Dean had to make that vote, those Republican appeasers certainly would have voted present. It's oh so easy to complain in hindsight about votes you don't have to make.

4. GOP attack about "Kerry" Flip-Flop |

If Clinton is the nominee she believes she would fare better for herself and for the democratic party if she wasn't labelled flip=flopper like Kerry.

imo she is no different than Bush in that she is afraid to admit what she knows was a mistake, because she's somehow afraid that it will make her look weak. How is she any different from Bush in that way and why should we replace a leader who won't admit mistakes with another one who won't admit mistakes either?

6. Because she has said that knowing what she knows now, she would vote differently. |
|
'Nuff said.
And, she said when she cast her vote:
A vote for it is not a vote to rush to war; it is a vote that puts awesome responsibility in the hands of our President and we say to him - use these powers wisely and as a last resort.
So Mr. President, for all its appeal, a unilateral attack, while it cannot be ruled out, on the present facts is not a good option.
If we were to attack Iraq now, alone or with few allies, it would set a precedent that could come back to haunt us. In recent days, Russia has talked of an invasion of Georgia to attack Chechen rebels. India has mentioned the possibility of a pre-emptive strike on Pakistan. And what if China were to perceive a threat from Taiwan?
We and our NATO allies did not depose Mr. Milosevic, who was responsible for more than a quarter of a million people being killed in the 1990s. Instead, by stopping his aggression in Bosnia and Kosovo, and keeping on the tough sanctions, we created the conditions in which his own people threw him out and led to his being in the dock being tried for war crimes as we speak.

one doesn't allow for people to admit mistakes. I'm guessing this is what HRC is thinking when she refuses to say "I'm sorry".

9. A woman candidate admitting she should have been a pacifist? |
|
A woman candidate flip-flopping. Well, we all know what women are like, can't make up their minds.
Is there any answer for that wrong vote that is not a minefield?
We told her not to do it. She did it. Now she is stuck with it.
Obama, however, covers himself with glory for not voting for IWR. Because he was not there. Had he been there, knowing he planned to run for the presidency? I'm glad you know what he would have done.

13. She CANT admit she was wrong |
|
Her justification for claiming experience relates to Bill being President.
The IWR was based mostly on bogus info gathered during Bill's Presidency.
Admit the IWR vote was a mistake, admit Bill's Presidency could make mistakes, and then she loses that mantle of experience.
