Kathleen Hall Jamison on Bill MOyers... |
|
Ms. Jamison is the political communication professional of the U. of Penn, and has been featured on Moyers' JOurnal during this election cycle.
Tonight she discussed the loss of JOhn Edwards as the voice of social justice in this campaign. She affirmed the notion that his strong message was lost in the circus of the media coverage of the 'horse race.' (Oh, I know, we hear Hillary and Barack talk about these issues.. but they are parroting Edwards' message. Think about who started this focus in the first place..)
In fact, his voice for the homeless veterans should have been a wake-up call for the nation. But it got swept away in the glitz.
What the hell is wrong with us? Are we, as a nation, so bemused by whatever the talking heads say, that we can't hear the truth and act on it?
Have we lost the critical thinking we need to make an informed choice as to the direction of our country?
Have we lost the discerning ear to hear the message of where we need to go?
I get so annoyed with people who focus on the superficial: Where can we get back on track?

1. frustrating ... so few people heard Edwards |
|
he got to the root of our society's problems. When Obama and Clinton pledged to continue his fight, I hope they meant it.
I'm pretty disappointed by the intellectual state of the union. And sick to death of those stupid celebrity and politician endorsements that most sheeple follow.
