EDWARDS SUPPORTERS -
I just spoke to an attorney at our local Democratic Executive Committee.

He says John Edwards wording of "suspending" was highly unusual.

(he thought John didnt have the money, but he does and more to come
with matching funds in March. He's for Hillary but mentioned John
has the best health plan!)

"Yes, it means he could come back in" he says

So "Suspended Not Ended" is the accurate slogan

He also advises that delegates at the convention could draft John Edwards -

so its more important than ever that we get on those phones TODAY,if you dont

know how to get dem phone numbers - email me -

And remind people they can vote for John Edwards, he's on their ballot,

get JOhn Edwards the votes to get him delegates at the convention who will draft

him.

5. What about trying to get volunteers together to stand outside caucuses and polling places
and let voters know that they can still support John and why they should?

I agree with getting more Delegates and I have so posted but there was nothing "unusual' with John's choice to "suspend". That is what is usual. He "timing" was what was unusual.

12. You're so right Iris.. best done on the states sites maybe -also
you want to ask on your thread - which states and who can do?

WE have one afternoon and one day..

At least to get people out there tomorrow with sign (must be 100 feet away)

Vote John - Suspended not Ended

if they stop to ask why what it means it can be explained then

Delegates

7. You are going to get flamed here
but there are obvious good reasons for those that agree with Edwards on the issues to vote Edwards and promote Edwards. I have some time tonight I can dedicate to making calls and I have PMed you regarding same. I urge everyone who can to join in this effort.

10. If one of the Corporatarian candidates drops out after Tuesday, maybe
he'll renew his campaign - and then he'll be able to debate head to head with the remaining Corporatarian.

Wouldn't that be a hoot?

19. You guys need to get a clue...
after tomorrow he won't have the opportunity to get enough delegates. He would have to when the rest of the primaries by 80 percent. "suspended" means he can decide what to do with his 26 little delegates. You guys really need to move on. WTF.

20. Damn! I wish I'd seen this earlier.
But I do thank you for making that call and posting that - it makes me smile. :P I like having hope that he's still in the mix, and will have some influence! Who knows what can happen down the road?

I like the 'suspended, not ended' line, too. Super Tuesday is here!

21. "Suspended" is also what
Ross Perot did in his 1992 campaign. Everyone thought he was ending it but he came back after 2 months, in time to join the fall debates and he ended up with 19 per cent of the vote.

Not suggesting that this is John Edwards' plan, but the "suspending" means that he _would_ still be available in case one of the two remaining candidates flames out, or if there's a brokered convention. Neither one may be very likely, but the future is full of uncertainties --- especially this year!

Unfortunately I didn't even get a chance to vote for him once; we had caucuses and at my location, he didn't draw enough supporters to win a delegate. My suspicion is, he actually had more than 4% of the Democratic vote in Nevada, but because it was scattered geographically, it didn't count under the caucus system.

22. Thanks Shimmergal - I have heard
from someone who worked Nevada as a volunteer that there were some very "funny" things going on - seeming unlikely that John only got 4 % there.

But thanks for the info about Ross Perot...I remember his dropping in and out but didnt know the timing of it !!

thanks so much
