Why I've decided not to pick a candidate in the primary...
I was a Clark supporter and I got my heart broken last time.

I SWORE..NEVER to pick a candidate in the primaries again.

I will never go through that again. EVAh.

I'm just going with the nominee.

Plus who would want to put up with people insulting your candidate and insulting you for supporting your candidate on a daily basis?

Who else here has decided not to make a pick in the race so far.

8. That seems to be the hardest. Having a favorite but not sticking up for them.

3. I'm going with Hillary Clinton,
but if Barrack Obama gets it, he will get my full support.

5. I'm caucusing Uncommitted
I don't agree with either one of the "big two" enough to caucus for him/her. There's just too many things that make me uncomfortable with supporting either one at this time.

Instead I'm focusing on local races. There's a big Senate endorsement this year that I'm more interested in.

6. I have had heart broken several times - starting with RFK. So I understand.

I feel your pain, xultar.
Hey, the general is bad enough, right?
I ate oatmeal for a week after 2004.
Watched both Gore and Kerry grow in Congress for years, hoping they would be prez someday.
Yes, when young al was trying to turn ARPANET into an "information superhighway"
Yes, when young Kerry was trying to get to the bottom of Iran-contra-BCCI.
Yes, when they were the leading proponents of Earth day and environment and altenergy as a front line issue.
They both have Vision, the ability to think in terms of decades and not just election cycles.
but alas, stranded we are in a timeline of bad choices and cheated opportunities.

So this does factor in to my decision to hold back, but more so the following:
This year I wanted to stay CLEAR HEADED and above the fray - the better to see the possible trajectories of our human future.
We are at one of those points in history that could be a fulcrum point - the people were not ready for this change in 2000 or 2004, even though the cheating was the deciding factor, the real yearning for change was not quite at the boiling point.

some do not understand the spontaneous tears and cheers of the Obam supporters, or the Clinton supporters so ready for a woman to lead that they choke up. Each camp makes fun of the other.
Cultists! Sentimentalists!
No.
I understand them both.
We are scarred and bruised, we are hurting.
Not for ourselves only, but for the dead and the marginalized.

We must pull ourselves together, stop the bickering among ourselves and beat back this neo-fascist assault.
Every young voter that comes into our tent because of Obama should be celebrated.
Every older voter excited about voting for the first woman president should be respected for their experience, and learned from.
We are brothers and sisters in this fight.
Together we will succeed.
THIS TIME IS OUR TIME!
