Obama the beneficiary of Edwards dropping out |
|
Andrew Kohut of the Pew Foundation just said on "All things considered" that it's clear that Obama has benefited from Edwards leaving the race- considerably. He said it's not only reflected in the Pew poll but also in Gallup and CBS.

4. not really. According to Kohut Obama's gained 7 points since |
|
Edwards dropped out and he had a lot of ground to make up. In addition, most national polls now show him no more than a few points back and most state polls in CA show him very close. Andrew Kohut is the only pollster I respect, so if he says it, I'm putting some stock in it.

12. The polls have never been this favorable to Clinton during the |
|
primaries yet she's aways behind by 10 by now. It could be a bad day for Obama.

5. Well, he hasn't gotten me yet. |
|
Edwards is still on my ballot and he's already gotten my vote. The primaries are for voting one's CONSCIENCE. I will, however, stand behind whoever gets the Dem nomination in the GE.

6. So does that mean that Hillbots are behind the "Vote for Edwards anyway" threads? |
|
One such person has blown their cover twice already.

11. and that has zip to do with Edward performance in the primaries |
|
or his dropping out even if it is true- something I see NO evidence for. Edwards was the favorite in the lefty blogosphere.
Edwards put all his eggs into the Iowa basket and it didn't work.

15. The blogosphere was divided |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 06:47 PM by jackson_dem
It wasn't supporting Edwards the same way it supported Dean. The swiftboating of Edwards was critical in ensuring a 40/30 kind of split. Edwards lost Iowa because he was outspent 6-to-1. Who knows what would have happened if he weren't swiftboated and had more netroots support and hence more funding. He likely would have still lost but we will never know for certain. What we do know for sure is it was Obamites who swiftboated Edwards in the blogosphere. It wasn't Hillarites. It wasn't Biden, Kucinich, or Dodd supporters. It was Obamites. No Edwardian should ever forget this.

13. There was NO swiftboating of Edwards |
|
NONE NADA
The hair, the house and the hedge fund were not swiftboating - nor were the many shifts from his Senate record.
What do you think he was "swiftboated" on.
