MSNBC has a very bizarre dynamic going on
They blatantly shill from early morning to late at night in favor of Barack Obama and against Hillary Clinton.

And then, at the very end of the programming day, Dan Abrams comes on and tells you that everything you've just heard for the previous twelve hours is pure partisan advocacy masquerading as journalism.

Then they break to reality crime and prison shows.

Cue the following day, where the cycle starts all over again.

11. I haven't watched much of CNN
because I like to torture myself with MSNBC, but they do seem to be far more balanced than Tweety and Co.

4. There's a reason they removed Abrams as CEO
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 10:15 PM by neutron
it was getting a little too liberal around the old whorehouse.
In fact, as proof Daily Kos is full of right wing hacks,
A Daily Kos "recommended diary" was attacking Abrams as
being "right wing" while he was CEO.
And giving links to a website with a fake story.

10. Agree with this for the most part, but I see plenty of anti-Obama talk and rhetoric.
Lots of stuff pretty positive and "inevitable" for Hillary. Never seen that about Obama.

news to her benefit. You must not be watching the MSNBC I'm watching. Then at the end of the day, they say poor Clinton the news media is not being fair. So it's a win all day for Clinton.

They've lost their grounding, now that their poll gods have been shown to be false.

20. That is what
can and should be expected. As a general rule, reporters tend to be liberal, and management tends to be conservative. Hence, there is almost always a difference between what the approach of the reporters and the editors/management take. This has been one of the most basic concepts of Journalism 101 since the late 1950s.

While one could make a good case that Hillary Clinton is as "liberal" as Barack Obama, or even more so in some areas, she is without question identified more closely with the "establishment." More, regardless of how one views the two, it is clear that Barack Obama is bringing more excitement to the race.

Beyond that, there is a factor that goes beyond the actual candidates which has played an important role: the journalists who are following each candidate have contacts with campaign staff that influences their reporting. It may be said that reporters should be as objective as possible, but the truth is that some of Senator Clinton's staff have not served her well in the sense of maintaining positive relationships with some journalists.

As a result of these things (and more), the supporters of Hillary Clinton do see the corporate media -- including but not limited to MSNBC -- engaging in a style of reporting that suggests the candidates are being treated differently.
