Gallup: Hillary 52%, Obama 39%
Gallup Daily: Tracking Election 2008

The increase in support for Hillary Clinton at the national level that Gallup saw in interviewing conducted Sunday and Monday continued in interviewing Tuesday night. Gallup Poll Daily tracking conducted Feb. 3-5 now includes three consecutive days in which Clinton has done well, giving her a 13-percentage point lead over Barack Obama, 52% to 39%.

...Obama had been competitive with Clinton in interviews conducted Feb. 2 (as well as earlier last week), but those interviews have now dropped out of Gallup's continuous three-day rolling average reporting.

Note -- Rasmussen, which currently has them tied at 44%, uses a 4-day rolling average.

3. This was yesterday's Gallup report.
Just so you know. We'll see what happens today, when more of the post super-Tuesday numbers have been included.

14. Just so you know ...
The New York Times article and The Guardian article were posted yesterday, insinuating the "cult" aspect of the Obama campaign. That wasn't accidental timing.

5. Your failure in logic involves Rasmussen...
While it does involve a four day rolling average. Obama's strong day wasn't the oldest he has closed the gap more each day. All you have posted is that one poll shows him going down and the other one shows him going up.

21. It was clear to me that you were implying that Rasmussen
had higher results because it had an older day of polling.

13. Useless. That's yesterday's poll, based on Feb 3-5. We just took a very large poll
on Feb 5 called Super Tuesday, which ended up nearly evenly split, although the states voting that day favored Hillary.

National polls from here on out are meaningless. More than half the country has voted, so why include them when there's only a few states voting each week from here on out? What purpose does a sampling of large states like Cai, NY, Ill, Mass have when they're only voting this weekend in La, Neb, Wash, and Maine? State polls are the only polls relevant, and as we've seen they're of dubious usefulness also.

18. They just took a vastly larger poll with a sample size of about 15 million on Feb 5.
There's no better indication of a trend than that.

19. Rasmussen today: 44-44.
4-day tracking poll.

http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/daily_presidential_tracking_polling_history

Consider the Gallup poll cited in OP as an outlier that will soon disappear. Gallup had huge numbers for Hillary on Feb 5, but the actual voting showed about an even split. His poll is 3-day, so those numbers will disappear by Saturday's announced 3-day tracking poll.

Sorry to spoil the victory celebration.

23. You do realize national polls are meaningless now, don't you?
Half the country has already voted. It is meaningless for pollsters to be polling in states that have already voted. The only thing that's important is the polling in the remaining primary states.

28. I'll bite....
Take a look at this chart

Now the poll starts the day after Iowa, but i think we can both agree that Clinton was ahead giving this is a 3 day average poll. Saying this, i think we can both agree, Obama won Iowa one more delegate over Clinton.

Now lets take a look at New Hampshire, 1/8/2007, Obama and Clinton both tired with delegates, but Clinton had a 5 point advantage.

Lets take a look at Nevada, 1/19/2007, Obama won 1 more delegate than Clinton did, but Clinton had a 20 point advantage.

Lets take a look at South Carolina, 1/26/2007, Obama won 13 more delegates than Clinton did, but Clinton had a 11 point advantage.

And on Super Tuesday, Obama took more delegates than Clinton did, and she still had an advantage in this poll.

I think this poll is working very well for Clinton, keep on saying it is good news i am behind you on that one ;)
