They have destroyed every candidate, including Clinton. We have got to make them accountable. No Democratic Candidate should be going through the HELL they are putting Clinton through. I don't care if you like her or not.
This Cable News SHIT HAS GOT TO STOP. These Schmucks are not our friend.

15. Yet, he still won in 2000 and would make mincemeat of them, |
|
I believe, if they pulled the same crap again. He's found his voice and become 'comfortable' in his own skin (come out of BC's shadow) over the last eight years. He is a Nobel Laureate, and has the respect and support of leaders around the world. He's proven his mettle, vision, and courage. Yep, he'd have made a great President then and he'd make a great President now.

3. Hillary would have gone after him by going into the gutter too...he knows that |
|
maybe that is another reason why he chose not to run this year.

4. The race would not be anywhere near as exciting |
|
Gore's biggest following is on DU. Mainstream voters would be bored silly from more of the same. No offense to Gore, of course.

5. If there was any justice in this world he'd become Pres, but I don't think he'd have a better chance |

of winning the election than either Barack or Hillary.

7. Gore would have had the Democratic nomination by now |
|
By a larger margin than McCain has his.
And that's coming from an Obama supporter. Gore was undoubtedly my first choice, and I kept believing he would step in, right up until about Halloween, when it was obvious the time had passed. I was undecided until Iowa. Now I believe Barack Obama is the best hope to help us end the trainwreck direction this country has been going since 1980.

9. If the primary was held on DU, yes, but across the country, not so sure. The GE? I don't think so |
|

I don't think he could've had a better chance of winning the GE than Hillary or Barack, and I don't think Gore thinks he could either, or he'd probably be running if he did.

11. Gore seems to be the first choice of nearly everybody I've met, |
|
and I will grant the caveat that I have yet to meet anyone whose 1st choice was Hillary. I know they're out there somewhere, but not around here. If he had run, he'd have taken just about everything thru supertuesday. Obama's movement would have withered, Hillary's machine would have crumbled, and Edwards would be negotiating with him for AG.

12. Because NOBODY the republicans put up could stand against him. |
|
Their strongest candidate is John McCain, for gawds sake. Do you really think McCain could take out the real president?
OTOH, the supremes would block it somehow, because if they didn't he would convince congress to initiate impeachment proceedings against them for their illegal ruling which effected the Bush coup.

There are a lot of people who don't like him. He'd do better than Hillary for sure. I'm not sure about Obama. Gore still doesn't have much charisma.

16. There's precedent suggesting Gore could have won in '08 |
|
Nixon
Nixon lost a bitter, narrow defeat in '60 to JFK. Then lost the California governor's race to Pat Brown in '62, where we got the famous "you won't have Dick Nixon to kick around" speech. Fast forward 6 years. The "New" Dick Nixon is appearing on Carson and Laugh - In. He's developed a sense of humor. He's as conservative as they come, but remarkably, runs on an anti-war (he had a secret plan to end the war) platform.
Gore lost narrowly. Fast forward 8 years, he too has made many self-deprecating comedic appearances. He's made a fortune investing in Google, and has produced "An Inconvenient Truth." He's won an Oscar and a Nobel. This would have been the time to put the "I invented the internet" comments behind him, and, instead, appear as an intelligent, wealthy leader who could bring this country together and move us forward.
