Why Continual Losing Doesn't Help the Clinton Campaign |
|
The Clinton campaign should really be worried if she goes 0-8 (assuming Obama wins Maryland, Virginia, and D.C.). Yes, the delegate count won't make that much of a difference...but perception is as important (if not more) than delegates in politics.
What will happen to Hillary Clinton's PERCIEVED electibility if she goes totally defeated for a while? Ask Rudy Guiliani how racking up loses helps your campaign in the end. It doesn't...and never has. She HAS to win a state or more before March 4 when TX and OH vote if she wants to win convincingly. I find it very hard to believe if she doesn't win anything until then...she still wins handily in those important states. Candidates who put their campaigns hands in one or two states usually end up disappointed because they've already lost so much.

It was in jest, not meant to be critical. :-)

2. It's all about momentum |
|
Despite a few hiccups, Obama has had the momentum since Iowa. The headlines tomorrow are going to talk about how he swept the polls this weekend, and that will only increase the momentum.
Nothing's a sure bet, of course, but Hillary has an uphill climb at this point.

10. Watch out for her Machinery |
|
I have seen it up close and personal.
She is still a HUGE favorite in Texas and Ohio and Pennsylvania - and she will pull out every possibly stop to win.
Obama will have to continue to fight hard. He is still the Underdog.

3. People say that Ohio and Texas are safe Clinton strongholds |
|
But guess what, they aren't if Obama keeps winning!
That's politics and that's momentum.
