I thought Hillary gave a great speech tonight. Obama followed her at WI Founders Day event: |
|
Edited on Sun Feb-17-08 01:01 AM by rodeodance
Tammy Baldwin and Barb Lawton, the Lt. Gov of WI introduced her. She started off slow talking about incidents with people she meet today in WI-their problems with health care and the mortgage problems
“Lets get real”—about Energy policy (green job-creation, education (get rid of NCLB, ect ). “I WILL END THE UNFUNDED MANDATE OF NCLB!”--she said this 3 months ago!
“547,000 people in WI without Health care Insurance!”!--its a MORAL imperative to make sure ALL people have Health insurance.
"change is going to happen"--need the right kind of change"
She focused running against the Repugs. I really did not catch any dissing of Sen. Obama.
Obama on the other hand was defensive—(IMHO). He brought up many things that he said people are worried about –like empty rhetoric. What is hope.
Anyway thoughts?

Hers are the words that are cheap. Yes--change is going to happen but not by voting in her tired old ways and rhetoric.

person to be the nominee and the president. Did not watch obama because you can usually recite what he will say and how he will say it. If obama is the nominee the democratic party will be set back for another 8 years....we had this election until the might obama decided he had to save us all.....
If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, "Let us go after other gods"- which you have not known - "and let us serve them," you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams........

|
from Hillary. I always know what Clinton will say because she's made up the stuff recently and has to keep saying it to herself so she knows what she means.
I have trouble watching her now that I always seeing her literally going through the motions that Stephen Colbert called "Clap clap point point".

13. Hillary was set to LOSE this election, until Obama stepped in to save the Democratic party from .... |
|
ourselves.
BenDavid.. you have it exactly ass-backwards. Hillary can't win in November. Nominating her would set the Dems back for another four years.
Of the two, Obama is the only hope for the Democratic party to win.

17. "Yes, We Will...Yes, We Will...Yes, We Will..." LOSE THE GENERAL if Hillary is the nom. |
|
Get comfortable with the prospect of President McCain if you really think Hillary is the best Dem candidate for the general election. NO EVIDENCE supports the claim that she will win with a healthy margin.

23. Which Dem candidate has very high negatives in practically ALL national polls? |
|
Which Dem candidate have the Repukes been putting out there as their "choice" opponent...knowing full well that they can kick her ass?
Fear has NOTHING to do with it. I'm all about practicality and what it will take for Dems to take back the WH. Hillary is not the practical choice.
