All this bickering, name-calling and nastiness on DU has made me wonder what it's really accomplishing. It seems that those of us engaged in arguments, discussions and disagreements here are already solid and decided in supporting one of the two Dem candidates - so who are we trying to persuade?

But, I'm not sure of that - perhaps there are still DU'ers in this forum who are undecided and they just don't post much to stay out of the line of fire (and really, can you blame them?).

So, if you are undecided, please post here - I'm just trying to get a rudimentary idea if there are any of you left here or if we've scared you all off.

Please Note: If you are decided, please don't do anything but lurk in this thread (or perhaps kick it every now and then if you're also curious about this and the thread sinks like I think it will). I'd like this to be a peaceful, safe place where an undecided can state their position without being barraged by reasons and arguments for one candidate or the other. If you feel the need to rant against or for a particular candidate, you can do that in pretty much any other thread in this forum. Thanks!!

1. I am undecided
really, really don't care for either of them. I hope for a brokered convention.

I don't think I ever will choose one over the other; will simply eat the dogfood when it is served.

2. Are you hoping for Gore in a brokered convention?
On a personal note - that sucks! It really does - I've been there several times in my life and it's disappointing. Hang in there.

3. I was an active "draft Gore" zealot

and then was a Biden supporter

I would take either in a heartbeat

but "hoping?" - not really

I lost hope - oh, sometime around November 22, 1963. Further exacerbated June 5, 1968.

you're sporting an Obama banner.

Of course, unless you, too, are willing to remain out of it.

7. I was going to remove it but it seems duplicitous to do so.
I've posted non-stop here in support of Obama - I'd be fooling no one if I removed it now. This obviously isn't a pro-Obama thread - it's a simple question.

6. I'm more like, I support both of them
I like them both. Truly. I also have worries and concerns about them both. But I'd be happy to support and vote for either one of them in the General. They're both awesome!

Does that count?

9. I am undecided but leaning
I am reluctant to become excited about either candidate after the "selection" of 2004. I have a basic mistrust of almost all persons in the political arena. I would like to believe in the system again, but don't at this point in time. I also have stated and will continue to state that I will endorse the candidate that will publicly fight for voter verified paper ballots for ALL AMERICANS. I would be 100% decided if one of the candidates would take an oath to protest ANY AND ALL questionable election results.

I'm not crazy about either of them, but whoever ultimately wins the nomination will get my vote.

12. Still undecided
I was originally for Hillary, but started leaning to-wards Barack after he won Iowa and showed very well in NH. I turned back to-wards Hillary again after the so called "race card" before South Carolina that IMO Obama cynically allowed to become a firestorm. It showed me that he was not above playing politics as usual. I am now leaning back to Barack mostly because of the Florida/Michigan issue ( they should not count and I don't like the the Hillary campaign is saying about em) and the fact that I have a chance to vote for a realistic black candidate for president. I think Hillary should come out and say she agrees to what she signed before the primaries began and also that "super delegates" should NOT overturn the pledged delegates and the popular vote count however that may go. So right now I'm leaning Obama and I hope that this process is wrapped up soon.

The actual issues are not much of an issue to me because there is no daylight between the 2 candidates on most of the issues (Hillary health care plan is better but thats about it). I'm agonizing between the history setting opportunity of electing a black man or a woman for the first time and who has the better chance in November. Regardless of who I finally vote for in Texas I will enthusiastically support the Democratic nominee without any hesitation.

I also have to say that I'm glad DU Obama voters do not represent the attitudes of all his supporters. Frankly I'm disgusted by what I read on this site day after day that is spewed for DU Obamites. If they were the only factor I would not vote for him at all , even in the GE. Thank goodness that Democrats are far more united that this board and the MSM portrays.

13. I do have a question
I can't find the answer to: In the reissued copies of Dreams of My Father, Barack Obama filed a disclaimer stating that some of the people in the book may be composites of people - rather than actual people - and that events may not have happened as he remembered them.

Our primary is upcoming. Since you're an Obama supporter, can you answer me why this seems to be a non-issue? And why should I support him and his promises when he had to file a disclaimer like this? Can I trust that he'll do what he says, or will he kind of be fuzzy about remembering his promises to us?

I had a lengthy conversation with an Obama supporter tonight who is begging me not to vote for Hillary. My head is about to spin off.

I apologize if this isn't the place for it but I've been reading for awhile now and I found this, so......tag, you're it!

Thank you.

14. Why on earth would it be an issue?
What would it have anything to do with his political opinions, his actions as President (or for that matter Senator) or his ability to do the job? Why should he be singled out when it's commonplace in almost all books, including historical and biographical ones?

That's all I'll say here - I've actually said more than I should have given my disclaimer in my OP. If you wish to hear more from me or others on the (non-)issue, please feel free to post a thread here.

16. I supported Edwards
Haven't chosen either of the remaining two.

But I will enthusiastically support either one if they are the nominee.
