If Hillary loses OH and/or TX , is it over? |
|
Are we getting very close to the end game? I do sense some desperation in the Clinton camp. Especialy with Bill getting in a yelling match with an Obama supporter or somewone that disagreed with him and with Hillary's charges claiming Obama plagiarized MLK and JFK and Thomas Jefferson, via Deval Patrick.
But we are only a couple of weeks from some very important primaries. If Obama wins Ohio and Texas, will Hillary continue to the convention in Denver or will she generously give the nomination to Obama? She has said she will fight all the way to the Convention. However, there comes a time when reality overwhelms all our dreams and ambitions.
Politics can bring out the best and the worst in people. I suppose we will see both in the next couple of weeks? Wisconsin is important tomorrow, if for no other reason than to stop the momentum of the Obama campaign. He has won eight races in a row. If he wins 9, then 10, then 11...it could be a very big uphill climb for Hillary and her supporters.

As stupid as their campaign is it seems to me that she has shown restraint where Bill has not. She may realize that her future as a great Senator is a better legacy than that of the person who humiliated herself trying to stop the first African American President.

There is no shame in that. Nothing to lose, the Presidency to gain, but not this time perhaps.

In fact I think Hillary being the strong presence she is could potentially do a lot more good in that position. As a President she is instantly the nemesis of republicans in congress. As Senate leader she could set the agenda and do the most for our democratic President.

41. However, the Senate hands out thing based on seniority |

as well as other factors... Hillary is still too junior, as is Obama, for any increased role in the Senate.
I'd like to see DiFi retire.
And I would support 100% Barbara Boxer for Senate Majority leader.

14. Her money has been drying up |
|
if she doesn't win both Ohio and Texas, I suspect that the spigot gets turned off completely. Flying around, paying for staff, advertising and security and so on, all costs money. I don't know if she will try to self finance for the rest of the campaign. It's tough to do, even for the very wealthy.
If she loses both, it will be gut check time.
If she loses one but not both... coin flip.
Wins both... we will have a floor fight at the convention.

8. From Mark Penn's mouth-- She has to pull within 25 delegates of Obama |
|
on March 4th, or she is not viable. She is behind 50-100, now, depending on whose count you use. 94 delegates will be awarded tomorrow, with Obama expecting to take a majority.
She is going to have to win BOTH OH and TX, at a substantial majority, 56-58% to get within the 25.
The end is nigh.

She will move on to Pennsylvania despite the fact that she has very little chance to win the nomination.. It will take a party uprising to get her to withdrawal.
But if Obama wins Texas and Ohio, the writing on the wall will be too much for her to ignore.

If she doesn't win both OH and TX, it will essentially be over. Unless, of course, she wants to destroy the party fulfilling her destiny via superdelegates.
