Is Obama having another campaign where the real battle is for the Nomination, not the General |

Election?
That was what happened in his 2004 Senate race.
I've been thinking this may be the case for a while and now with the McCain sex scandal breaking it makes me think it could be true.
What do you think?

1. It sure looks that way right now. |

I've been comparing this to his 2004 Senate race too -- and it does seem very reminiscent.

2. Big difference. They won't run Keyes as McCain's replacement |

They'll run a real candidate, probably Romney or maybe Condi Rice. Identity politics has proven to be very important (ask John Edwards) and Rice will get extra votes just because of that. They may go with Romney-Rice. Rice covers them either way the Democratic nomination turns out.

3. RIce can't run. She ruined her career when she said "nobody ever dreamed that they would fly planes" |

"into buildings"
Sorry Ms. National Security Adviser
There have been plans to hijack planes and fly them into the white house dating back to at least the Nixon era. They were all stopped, except the one on her watch.
There are other examples of her incompetency but that quote is undeniable. She can never escape it. Just one more Bushie who couldn't do their job.
