Rasmussen poll: both dems have more core opposition than McPain |
http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/for_or_against_presidential_candidatesThis is not about Hillary vs Obama but the best way do defeat McPain. The numbers in this poll are highly troubling. Unfortunately, the American electorate has made hugely devastating decisions in the past two presidential elections (regardless of stolen elections, they were close enough to be stolen) and Dems need to be determined and united so that it doesn't happen again.

1. The problem with all polls is that people are very fickle... |
...they love you one day, hate you the next in politics...polls right now really don't mean much since November is several light years (in the political world) away.

3. That's true, but with * dismal approval rating |
After the 2006 victories, and with a primary turnout double of the repugs, you would think momentum is on the Dems' side.

...but I also doubt most people are paying as much attention to politics as we are at DU...but things can change overnight...Dems have the upper hand, but anything is possible in politics. In 1980, Reagan always trailed Carter in the polls up until about a week before the election.

2. Obama has not been accepted as commander in chief (Hillary has but has other problems) - McCain |
will use that fact to close the polls and possibly turn that around.

4. They need to drive up McCain's negatives. Hopefully the recent scandal of his has some legs. |
There are too many people in the American public who only vote on perceptions and not policy. They hear that McCain is a 'straight shooter' and they think that either candidate would be okay in the White House. It's going to be interesting to see how Obama hits McCain if he committed to running a positive campaign.

7. That IS WHY John Edwards Was The OPTIMAL Nominee For The Democrats Against ANY Repub! |
And that is also why he was marginalized purposefully by the Voice of Corporate America... the MSM... To keep him out of there because John Edwards was theri nightmare opposition... We ARE NOW DONE... for 2008... The Repubs have won again because of Democrats that are like lemmings... It is truly amazing!
