To address the recent Drudge photo... |
|
I think we all need to take a step back and wait. Hillary is not going to flat out deny something one of her staffer's might have done without her knowing, so of course she is not going to deny it right away. At least wait till later today/this evening to see how things develop before painting her with such a large and harsh brush.
If she did do it, thats one thing.. but if she didn't, then all of this is about nothing and only makes us look bad. I think the worse case scenario would be if some of her staffers did this without her knowing.. that would hurt her regardless, and for reasons for which she wouldn't deserve.
so for now.. lets just wait and see guys.. ok?
-and yes, as a Obama supporter this does upset me, but use your head and use some patience.

1. Well if so, she could say the campaign didn't authorize it |
|
and any staffer who did this will be fired.
Simple enough.

3. What's Wrong With The Photo? What Offends You About It? |
|
It's just a photo of him in traditional garb during his visit. Why are you so outraged?

5. Who said I was outraged? |
|
Nothing is wrong with the photo.. but if what .. drudge posted is true, its intended use would upset me. Taking something innocent and twisting it for potential political gain.. yea, that would bother me some. But my point in this thread was, we DO NOT KNOW what the truth is, so people need to hold off until we do.

9. You Said You're Upset By It. Why? It's Just An Innocent Photo. |
|
Obama's side has created the intent by acting like there is something wrong in the photo that requires defense or is offensive somehow. It's just a benign photo, ya know?
This was a test for Obama in my opinion. I think he failed it. Hillary's response shows exactly why he failed it. He shouldn't have gone on the attack. Instead, he should've come forward in the same way she just now did, and said "why is this a story? Who cares. It's just the local garb and I'm proud of their culture" etc. He fell into a trap, whether it was intentionally set or not. He loses this round.

11. maybe what you say is true, maybe it isn't, |
|
but either way it has little to due with the intent of this thread. I didn't make this to form some kind of a whipping board for both sides to argue.. there are half a dozen other threads already like that. All I want is for people to be alittle more logical before allowing passions to fly in the face of reason is all. Your input though is appreciated.

14. Great distraction tactic hillary, see below |
|
Don't Look at How Badly Hillary's campaign is sinking look at this instead: There have been 12 duplicate threads posted about the Clinton campaign circulating a photo of Obama in "muslim" garb6 duplicates trying to defend Hillary Clinton for this, and 6 duplicates condemning this smear campaign. People should be worried to hear of the connections between the Clinton and McCain campaign advisors, or the fact that Obama has won 25 contests, Hillary only 11. This cute distraction seems to be working.

It could've been a non story if he had responded with the brilliance that her campaign had.

and why is everyone (including Obama's campaign) buying into DRUDGE's framing of the story?
Imagine you send me a pic of Hillary Clinton in her pajamas. She's wearing curlers in her hair and looks like hell, she's even kicking the cat out of her way!
I respond to your e-mail --"Wow. The Times would love to get a hold of THAT picture!"
I have now 'circulated' a bad pic of Hillary Clinton.
Who the hell knows what happened? How did a Drudge Reporter get a Clinton staffer e-mail?
What was wrong with the Clinton staffer's response to the e-mail?
What IS a Clinton 'staffer'?

10. I really don't understand |
|
This is a photo that Obama had taken of clothes he actually wore on a visit as a Senator to another country. He clearly did it to show respect for his hosts. Politicians do that all the time. Exactly how is this suppoed to be a "smear" photo? Why is the Obama campaign and Obama' supporters reacting like this is a Willie Horton lite moment? I don't even see why the Obama campaigned dignified this with any response. And I can't see how it speaks well of them that they did. It makes them look utterly defensive and somewhat shell-shocked by the recent barrage of incoming. It's as if they've had mortars aimed at them for the last week and they lash out violently at a feather floating by, thinking it must have a bomb somewhere in there.
Kinda sad what they've been reduced to.

13. enouigh of the talking points pls.. |
|
this thread has nothing to due with getting people to attack one another. I support Obama and I'm trying to defend Hillary over something I see as weak / unresolved.. that doesn't mean I want people to attack the opposite way either. ;)

and I'll probably be attacked for this... just about every time I look at the GDP forum and all the threads posted there.. It makes me sick to my stomach how vicious / close minded / arrogant SOME of the Obama supporters are that share my side. Christ.. I feel more at home talking to the Hillary people than my own fellow supporters most of the time. is it me or what??
(yea, this goes against what I wrote earlier about wanting to stick on subject but.. Jeez.. it just kinda overwhelmed me there for a time)
