Obama has peaked too soon. |
|
The mainstream media has pegged Obama:
He cant win the big states. He cant beat McCain. He has lost momentum. He got his ass handed to him in PA. He cant shake off Rev. Wright. He cant win the big one.
This is all clear indications that he has peaked too soon. He has lost the edge in the independent voters. He loss in PA was significant since he only won the inner cities (3 of them) leaving the entire rest of the state to Clinton. It is clear he cant do that on a national level and expect to win the country.
Obama has peaked. The rookie can't close the show.

It doesn't really impress me that she can only improve her numbers by dragging her opponent in the mud.

I liked Obama because I thought he had a better chance of being elected and he was a bit more liberal than Hillary. Now, I don't think he is electable.
I never doubt into the "hope and unity" message. I knew that the rethugs had no interest in working together.

|
They just don't know it.
In 4 years they will be the target of the crowd calling for change from those who use the politics of hate over the politics of hope.
So much for unity, hope, and group hug crap.

Ms. Inevitability, indeed... her campaign has been pathetic and inept. I cringe at the thought of this joke of a campaign going up against the GOP.

35. The media PEEKED too soon... |
|
Then again, it can go either way.
We haven't really heard about Bill Ayers yet, or Raila Odinga, or Nadhmi Auchi...
The Wright issue isn't over yet, either. If Obama gets the nomination, the reactionaries will pore over sermons and cross-reference them with Obama's attendance and "gotcha" him on the inevitable hot potatoes. After it dies down a bit, someone will ask Obama, point-blank, whether he knew about Wright's assertion about HIV. There's no particularly good answer to that.
Either way, he may have the momentum to force the issue and take the nomination despite all this. Denver could be truly nasty.
People of this stature owe us something, and more than anything else, they owe it to us to be squeaky clean. The road is hard and the rest of us have dreams, too.

Its very weird but I now feel more invested in him as a person and human being. Watching his pain over the Rev. really got to me.
I'm seeing him grow through trials and tribulations and I like how steady and thoughtful he is.

In all seriousness. And it makes me nauseous to say so.
And I would not have said it even last week, but I now believe it is apparent that Mrs. Clinton is gathering momentum for a late surge to capture the Democratic nomination.
If she pulls out Indiana and makes it close in NC -- as the recent polling indicates she is doing -- her case for the nomination becomes stronger. Obama is having difficulty shaking the seemingly endless Wright controversy, and every day that is the news it hurts him.
One other statistical observation as evidence in the case for Mrs. Clinton: both retail store figures as well as eyewitness accounts across the country report a collapse in sales of thong underwear and a strong increase in that of 100% cotton granny panties.
(Gotcha.)

If Obama had peaked, I don't think you'd be seeing the SD endorsements keep rolling in. Yesterday he got 4. Hillary got 2. And 1 was particularly interesting. Former DNC Chair under President Clinton, Joe Andrew, who endorsed Hillary on the day she announced, switched to Obama. Why would he do that if Obama has peaked? He wouldn't.
Obama was expected to lose in PA, just as Hillary was expected to lose in Alabama. Nothing particularly earthshaking about either loss for either candidate.
Obama can win big states, and in any case he can win the states Hillary won with the possible exception of FL- and I don't Hillary could win it in the general either.
Of course he can beat McCain. They both can.
I don't see Hillary pulling it out at this late date. She certainly tried her hardest. I'll give her that.
