There's a sign hanging in my town today. |
|
It says the following:
OBAMA = PEACE OTHERS = WAR
That sums it up for me. On the fifth anniversary of "Mission Accomplished," Hillary Rodham Clinton's vote for the Iraq War is THE reason why I cannot support this woman. She has never apologized for it and for that alone I refuse to vote for her if by some reason she becomes the nominee of the Democratic party. As for the Supreme Court, sorry, that alone will not change my vote.
I feel a vote for Mrs. Clinton is a vote for John McCain. For some people, if they want a phony Republican, then they'll vote for the real thing and that is what will happen in November.

You've conveniently forgotten that your candidate has also voted repeatedly to fund the war. If he really wanted it to end, he could have voted NO on funding. But he didn't.
And I've already heard all the excuses about how the troops were already over there, they needed supplies, yadda yadda yadda...all of which changes nothing.
Barack COULD HAVE voted NO for more war funding in Iraq, but for the most part HE HAS NOT. He has voted to continue the war.
I do not currently support either Dem candidate.

I don't understand this nonsesense at all. There are quite a few on here claiming to not support either candidate but they all have one thing in common: they take up for Clinton and bash Obama constantly. It say quite a bit about Clinton if you ask me

6. You obviously haven't checked my previous posts. |

I've taken lots of heat from both sides, because I feel both candidates are inferior, and will be unable to bring about the REAL CHANGE this country needs.
You Hillary and Barack supporters are going to ensure a John McCain presidency. The M$M is complicit with the GOP, and they will see to it that the Dem candidate is taken down before November. They cannot risk a Dem getting the White House after Bush/Cheney. Unless it's a Dem candidate they (the GOP) wants in the White House.
You still think your vote matters?

After all if you don't believe in either one - what is the use in spending time wasting my time on your posts.

4. There's a huge difference in voting to give bushco a blank check |
|
to wage war, and voting to fund troops already engaged in said war. The vast majority of those in the House and Senate who voted against the IWR and spoke out passionately against it, voted to fund it on more than one occasion. If you see things in black and white, then naturally any nuance or subtlety is simply yadda, yadda, yadda.

How do you define "peace"?
Even if Obama withdraws all troops tomorrow, that does not mean we have achieved peace. These are still tumultuous times and dangers around the world. One man cannot ensure peace.

15. Keeping the US military out of places where they don't belong, would be a damn good start. |
|
The last time there was a truly legitimate reason for US troops to be deployed outside of the US was 1945. I suppose one could argue for a short term occupation of Germany & Japan, but that's about it.
Korea had nothing to do with the security of the United States. Neither did Vietnam. Let alone any of the clusterfucks in the Middle East.
Should the US have a strong military? Sure. But it should only be used to defend the United States of America. Get rid of imperialism, and you get rid of a lot of pissed off people (and justifiably so)

But I still don't think Obama equals peace for the simple reason that one man cannot ensure peace. We never know what an enemy may try to do to us. Even a defensive war is war.

Obama will continue to be a decent person, who happens to be running for office.
