Made Donation now my info is on the net |
|
Edited on Thu May-01-08 10:42 PM by aaroh
This sucks, if you made a donation to any campaign your full name, employment details and full address is displayed on the net for the public to see. Just google your name or anyone's name and all this info can be found. http://fundrace.huffingtonpost.com/

|

10. I know it's hard to believe, but your personal information is being RAPED 24/7... |
|
Edited on Thu May-01-08 10:50 PM by Poll_Blind
...and you don't even know about it, because there's no way for you to sense it. In this instance, this is not such a big deal. If it really worries you, I want you to consider this:
Every time you ever made a purchase with any company and you were a good consumer and checked to see that they promised not to share that information with ANYONE. Remember how good you felt? Well, when those companies go belly-up, every bit of that company becomes an asset which is sold to the highest bidder. Yes, including all your purchase information, everything they ever got from you, informationally.
If you ruminate for any length of time on exactly just how revealing some of that information is, it will make your upset about this financial disclosure seem like a hangnail.
PB
P.S. STILL not upset? The main purchaser of that information is the Federal Government and/or organizations which turn around and sell that information to the Federal Government. And it's, ya know, not the nice part of the Federal Government...the ones who are likely to use all that data to determine which flavor of ice cream you like when they send you the free Baskin Robins coupon. Why do they need a warrant when they can just BUY your privacy from someone.

|
Now I'm reluctant to make any future campaign contributions or I'll just give a false address if I do (sue me).

Has been for a while. Better than having it resold for profit by private companies you deal with (eg your bank).

Ten dollars here. Twenty dollars there. Once you reach a single donation of $250.00, your name becomes part of public record.
