Something I would love to know
Bush's latest disapproval rating is 71%, the highest ever recorded.

McCain's national numbers against Clinton and Obama have consistently remained around 45% in recent weeks.

Let's just assume the minimum overlap possible based on those numbers, meaning the 55% of people not supporting McCain are all among the 71% disapproving of Bush. That would leave us with at least 16% of the voters that disapprove of Bush and are currently supporting McCain. And while Bush and McCain are certainly not the same person, they are very close in the areas that people disapprove of Bush. The 71% that are now against Bush do so largely because of the economy and Iraq, not because they have stopped "wanting to have a beer" with him. While Bush's personal image has certainly suffered, the predominant impetus for his drop in approval has been his policies and their results. I would love to know what those 16%+ are thinking. Is it "this sucks so bad I want some more", or are they just completely ignorant in the near mirror image policy positions McCain and Bush have on Iraq and the economy?

2. I think there are a significant number who will just vote for the R candidate - regardless
Read the posts here - we have a similar number. There are those who suggest you should vote for the D candidate - regardless of who it is - simply because the candidate is a D. There is candidate support, and their is party support.
