Un-fucking-believable.

Even if it were true and not a doctored video, it's FROM FUCKING 1992!!!! AND IT'S NOT EVEN SAID BY A CANDIDATE!!! IT DOESN'T FUCKING MATTER!!!

Jesus Christ, that's as lame as caring what someone's pastor says or what someone's grandfather did during WWII.

Let's assume Kantor said what the video shows him saying (which we know he didn't) - I would still ask why does it matter what a campaign manager of an election from 16 years ago that didn't involve, in any real or direct way, any current candidates, and who has no real, meaningful relationship with any current candidate?

Goddamn.

I wish the world would grow the fuck up.

"You had a tangential and irrelevant relationship with so-and-so 16 years ago, and he said blah blah! Are you going to condemn it? Your campaign is over!!"

And in the interest of full disclosure, I am an Obama supporter, and even if this were real, it would be a goddamned waste of time.

But then, everything the MSM does is a goddamned waste of time.

I wish you people would come to realize that, instead of pawing after every piece of bullshit irrelevancy read and circus nonsense and pretending it's earth-shatteringly important.

1. So, what your saying is
We should be more focused on what the candidates are saying, and not on the words of their surrogates and/or advisors from the past?

Oh, the irony...

And yes, I play along sometimes with the BS because it's full of snark and lulz. It's funny to see how the other side reacts when the shoe is on the other foot. The pony-haters sure pulled up the drawbridge pretty quickly.

This, too shall pass, HRC fans. Anyways, back to what I was talking about before:

Sometimes, I think we are rightly getting the (bad) government we deserve. Other times, I at least try to be understanding of how hard it can be to actually be informed with what the corporate media and entertainment industry feeds us, not to mention that kids aren't taught shit in school anymore and people are working longer and longer hours to survive. Most of the time I feel some sympathy for Joe and Jane Sixpack, but it is tough.

But I have a problem with it for another reason: If it's a non-doctored video, I don't know if the offensiveness transfers to HRC. It MIGHT transfer to Billie Boy a bit, but I don't know how much. And I'm not sure it transfers to her at all. It might. We'll see.

49. Well...It's not that simple.
Sometimes it does matter. It depends on who said it and under what circumstances. I certainly wouldn't dismiss anything said 16 years ago by...say...Karl Rove.

Nor can you simply write something off because it was 16 years ago. What about 8 years ago? Or 2 years ago? Or 21 years ago?

Certainly the Kantor thing has a feeling of "tit for tat". But let's face it, we're mixing politics with the fun, fun world of the internet. We, denizens of the web eat this kind of shit up.

55. Sure - we can hold peoples' statements against them. But not against others.
I don't think it's helpful, or even ethical, to hold Person A's statements against Person B, whether it's one of Clinton's friends, or Obama's, or McCains... or yours or mine. Everyone, I imagine, has had a friend (or likely still has one) with whom one doesn't agree 100% on every issue under the sun, and also who occasionally says or does really dumb things. I would hope that no one would hold my friend's actions against me, and so I don't hold other peoples' friends' actions against them.

Purity tests piss me off, because there is not a single person in the world who is "pure"; thus, everyone playing the purity test game is a lying hypocrite who serves merely to continue to dumb down the intellectual and maturity levels of this country. Which levels were already, as you hopefully realize, dangerously low and practically non-existent.

and thank you, but the way, for showing the class you have shown in posting it.

Where I break somewhat with you is that he is now a political adviser on her campaign, and - if it had been true - Senator Clinton would have had an obligation to fire him immediately. Feelings and actions like those that people were accusing him of saying do not disappear. If there was no contact with her current campaign, I totally agree with you.

Of course, he did NOT say either of them. It was, as you point out, manufactured, so it is all moot anyway.

It should not matter what someone else says or does.

But in setting this up, even if Obama can make his way clear out of the Wright mess, it allows whichever person ends up the nominee to be continuously slimed by the same brush - the kindergartner teacher had a grandson who became AL Queda - and this candidate never denounced the grandson or the kindergartner teacher.

This was one reason why I did not post any remarks about the Kantnor affair - even before I found out it wasn't true.

65. No, just Indiana is going apeshit. But why do you ask?
Does this mean the Ayers issue 40 years ago against Obama is off limits?

Or what about when Hill supporters dig 20 years ago on what an association of Obama's said 20 years ago in Obama's church?

Are they off limits or do you make up bogus excuses why they shouldn't be off limits?

74. Spend a few seconds to actually read my post.
You'll find all the answers in there.

Too bad you couldn't be bothered to do that in the first place before you responded.

68. I find the reality of FOX talking about the Lincoln/Douglas debate
far more interesting...especially when they put up a pic of Frederick Douglass beside that of an aging Lincoln taken in 1865.

BTW: If Lincoln and Frederick Douglass debated, I think that Lincoln would have been bested...Douglass was quite the orator and his use of the language is something that tanscends normal speech...;)
