In response to "Operation KKKhaos" I am seriously considering...
Edited on Sat May-03-08 02:27 PM by yourguide
donating money to Ron Paul.

It's not talked about much but the Rethugs have a serious Nader-esque problem on their hands with Ron Paul.

The Ron Paul supporters managed to take control of the recent Nevada State rethug convention, forcing it to be canceled. I believe he also picked up 16% of the vote in PA as well.

I will still vote Obama but I would love to see this somehow backfire in Rush Limbaugh's fat face.

Any other thoughts on how to combat this nonsense?

1. Ron Paul almost endorsed Obama yesterday
Edited on Sat May-03-08 02:29 PM by DJ13
He said he supported Obama's positions on foreign policy, but realizing how that might come across to his own chances in a third party run, quickly added that wasnt an endorsement of Obama's candidacy.

4. I'm not worried about any of this "Headrush the Vote" nonsense, it changes little.
It only offers more opportunities to ridicule Limbaugh and draw attention to the fact that his listeners consistently vote against their own financial interests.

5. Paul doesn't really draw in the typical republican voters anyway
It's mostly collage kids who don't like the democratcs.

21. It's wrong to call paul a racist though
That's the whole 'guilt by association' idea that people hate about the wright/obama controversy.

22. Have you ever read the articles that Paul wrote? This isn't guilt by association....
it's guilt by his own words.

15. I think you're right but it worries me. These dittoheads are more susceptible to
being conned and then falling in line with groupthink than we Dems are. We just assume that they have as much intellectual autonomy as we do. They think in lockstep and that disturbs me...

13. If those are the only options you can think of
the paucity of imagination matches the judgment.

14. Blah blah blah...
I would rather give it to Paul to screw with McCain than give it to Hillary to pay Mark Penn and the interest on her loan.

Yes indeed, I think my judgment is spot on.

18. I am pleased you agree that donating to Clinton
(or Obama in my opinion) would be a wise move.

19. No, I stated that it's unwise to donate to either republican...
Paul or Clinton. At least with Paul the upside is not lining his personal pocket with interest.

11. I thought ex GOP Rep. Bob Barr was seeking....
... and expecting to receive.... the Libertarian nomination.

I'd send my money there if I were thinking your way. Make sure he'll take more votes from them than us before you send it, though.
