Once again checked out the usual sites, Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc., and the only stories receiving real coverage is discussion by the pundits regarding "Democrats Attack Each Other" or "Hillary/Obama Go Negative." Inside these stories, all you hear are putdowns and one-liners offered by various surrogates. I will give credit that the LA Times did run an article today that actually examined each candidates health plan proposals, but this is the exception rather than norm. More often then not, I have to go to factcheck.org to get some discussion of the issues:
http://www.factcheck.org/gas_price_fixes_that_wont.htmlHowever, factcheck just focuses on the false or misleading positions taken, and it sometimes strives mightily to offer off-setting examinations of each candidates misleading statements.
My question to DU is what news site do you believe is a little less overtly superficial and biased than the others. ABC, of course, loss credibility with the lass debate focusing on snipers and Reverands. MSNBC loves to talk about attack ads more than issues. Fox News is the 24/7 Wright network. My take is that CNN is probably less excitable than the other programs, but it too tends to dwell on the mechanics of the election, rather than analyzing each candidate, their record, and their proposals.
Yes, these proposals probably were discussed earlier, but for Indiana and NOrth Carolina voters, it probably would be helpful to shed some light on the candidates beyond the attack ads and the punditry.
