Half of the Democratic Party does not understand the importance of the IWR vote.
It's shocking. I suppose some latitude should be given to people who didn't get it at the time. But for people, Democrats no less, to still have their heads up their asses six years later is inexcusable. Put down the People magazine, stop watching the view for your political news. Yes, I'm being condescending because you deserve to be talked down to.

19. Bush, Cheney and Rummy were primarily responsible but the Senate bears a great deal of that

21. There was no stopping it essentially.
The decision to force inspections on Iraq with a threat of war by many Dems, was a valid play in an effort to stop it by exposing the lies on WMD. It was unsuccessful. A Dem vote against the resolution would have failed as well as Bush would have gotten the vote with the next Congress and invaded on the same day.
