I think I just heard a concession speech.
Did anyone else notice the tone, the lack of fire, the wistfulness?

Also, notice that she didn't directly attack Obama for the first time in ages.

She's just trying to get some cash to cover expenses at this point because she knows what the SDs are about to do.

It's over folks. Let's start hitting those repubs!

Parts of the speech are the usual canned stuff, but that middle part was the opening of a Swan Song. Se knows it is over but will ride it the rest of the way down.

37. I strongly suspect as much. Just a look at their post-game emails is telling.
VERY telling.

Hillary's:

Dear calimary,

Tonight's victory in Indiana was close, and a margin that narrow means just one thing: every single thing you did to help us win in Indiana helped make the difference.

Every call you made, every friend you spoke to about our campaign, every dollar you contributed made tonight's victory possible. And I couldn't be more thankful for your hard work.

Every time we've celebrated a victory, we've celebrated it together. And tonight is no exception. This victory is your victory, this campaign is your campaign, and your support has been the difference between winning and losing.

Thank you so much for making this campaign possible. Let's keep making history together.

Sincerely,

Hillary

Barack's:

calimary -

We just won a decisive victory in North Carolina thanks to people like you.

Indiana remains too close to call. But what is clear is that we did much better than all the pundits predicted, despite Republicans changing parties to support Senator Clinton, believing she would be easier for Senator McCain to defeat.

Here's where we stand.

As of Tuesday morning, we needed just 273 delegates to clinch the nomination. When the votes are fully counted Wednesday morning, we will have gained more than a third of them in a single day.

We have a clear path to victory. But now is the time for each one of us to step up and do what we can to close out this primary.

Please make a donation of $100 right now:

Thank you for everything you're doing,

---

Clinton is neither asking for money nor roaring about slogging onward in her campaign. Just a thank-you.

Obama on the other hand is all about the work his campaign still has ahead of it.

That, and they're saying she's canceled all morning TV appearances. Probably hunkering down with Bill and the inner circle to decide whether to fight on, and if so, how to do it.

I suspect there might be a run on super delegates starting tomorrow.

---

HEY, HILLARY SUPPORTERS -

WE STILL NEED YOU!!!!!!

We still need HER!!!!

I'm really starting to feel as though it might be over. Besides, if she's not pressing her case on morning TV, that leaves a whole lotta news cycle with nothing to talk about but Obama and how he pulled off a big one, while there's silence from her camp. That will contribute to the momentum.

But I want to say here that I deeply appreciate the dedication and passion and resolve of the Clinton camp - and everybody here and elsewhere who went for her first. I was one of 'em in the beginning, myself. And I still like to fixate on all the things I admire about her - and there are MANY of those things.

40. Well, yeah, I understand your point. Perhaps - just perhaps - all the vapors we've
all been feeling throughout the year, as MANY of us have, um, hyperventilated about this, perhaps it's brought out the worst in some of us. Some stuff that might not otherwise have been a factor. I don't know.

I'm in a really conciliatory mood this evening. It sounds, TO ME, as though each of them was indeed doing a little "courtship" as was speculated on MSNBC earlier - by not smacking each other around in their speeches - especially her. And we've seen how heavy-handed she can be.

You know how it is when you don't feel like you're being heard, so you start raising your voice. And then if you still don't think you're being heard, then you start screaming. And if you STILL don't think you're being heard, maybe you start to get a little frenzied and you start shrieking almost to the point of nausea. Hey, I'm just guessing here.

I think once this thing shakes down all the way, and Obama formally clinches it (which could be sooner than later, especially if A - she's not soliciting donations online, so far, B - there may not be that huge a flood of new money coming in tomorrow, and C - "The Math" doesn't add up for her AT ALL anymore, and D - that brings us to the "Momentum Thing", and the PERCEPTION of the "Momentum Thing,"), people will start mellowing out again. Our higher and better selves will reassert themselves. And eventually we WILL all come together as the memories of this part of it fade, and all we have to focus on in the media is the Obama-vs-mcsame race. I think we'll all, or mostly, pull together again toward the common goal: Hanging a big blue "D" on the Oval Office door.

And yes, I'm channeling my inner Pollyana now. Love me anyway! And if nothing else, the unsavory parts of some here (and some of 'em may disappear because maybe a few of 'em weren't "one of us" to begin with) will crawl back under their rocks. I'm just guessing. But I prefer to give a whole lot of benefit of the doubt here. And I think there are lots of Hillary Clinton supporters on whom we should be going VERY easy at the moment. 'Cause they're hurting. And they'll be hurting even more as this becomes a done deal. If we deal with them gently and lovingly, that will invite them to get into lockstep with us that much sooner, I think.

Just pontificating here. The cold hard truth, in any event, is - we're gonna need 'em ALL to make sure this thing doesn't wind up close enough to steal in November.
