As a Obama supporter lets cut Hillary & her supporters break
It was a heated run and I understand why everyone took it so personal.

If Hillary does the right thing and drops out with grace or even continues a little longer but drops all the negative attacks and runs more of a uniting campaign it could actually benefit the Democratic party in the long run.

We have to understand what she is going through right now. She believed it was her time & time for the 1st women President and to make history.

Of course she fought a hard campaign and now that its over, it will probably do Obama good because all this Wright stuff wont be much of an issue come Oct. & Nov. Its good that its out of the way. Could you imagine what the 24/7 coverage of that right before the election would have done to Obama?

I have always been a fan of the Clintons. I mention before on here that I bought her books. I defended both of them from all the right wing attacks.

Lets face it. Bill Clinton was a 2 term Democratic President. He did a lot of good. Our country was in great shape those 8 years. Look what has happen since he left office. Hillary has done a lot of good in her life and I hope she continues to do great work for the American people.

Lets cut her and Bill some slack. Its sad in a way for me because it is a changing of the guard and Im a Obama supporter. Imagine what its like if you were invested in her campaign. Its a hard time for her supporters and we need to bring everyone back together again. We need time to heal the party so we can take back this White House.

I will always have a place in my heart for the Clintons. I just hope that now Clinton supporters can try and see why the Obama supporters fell in love with Obama. He also is a great person with great ideas and wants to do great things for this country. As hard as it is...its time to turn a page in this country & in the party.

2. That scenario means the implosion...
...of the Democratic party. Going that way would really demonstrate that the person
making that decision doesn't deserve to lead this country.

You can't sacrifice everything around you--just for yourself.

Anyway, this Superdelegate being interviewed is ONE PERSON, and the majority of
the SDs do not feel this way.

...and I'm grateful for that. This is delusional.

3. My respect for Hillary has increased multiple levels
It's obvious she's only going to stay in to provide cover for Obama in WV and KY.

5. I Welcome Her Back to Representing Me in The Senate
I hope that she will come to a more progressive foreign policy without having to worry about the general electorate. Beyond that, I think she is a wonderful Senator.

6. Thank you
I know quite a few of the Obama supporters here on DU loathe Hillary but I am one of those Hillary supporters that truly on an emotional level supported her and was thrilled to vote for her in the primary. Last night was a difficult night for me but this morning I am trying to look ahead. I guess I am hoping that some Obama supporters here will for a moment stop and think about their personal feelings for Obama on an emotional and gut level, politics aside, and with that understanding and empathy perhaps we could then begin to finally come together. It is done by extending a warm and friendly hand to those Hillary supporters who are truly feeling the loss deeply. This was a hard fought primary season as it should be - to become the democratic candidate for POTUS should not be easy.

And, I, as a Hillary supporter am in turn sincerely extending a congratulatory hand to all the DU Obama supporters with the hope that this gesture will be accepted without any of the inflammatory posts in return because of whom I support.

For those Hillary supporters that have fought the good fight, I believe Hillary will go on but that the rhetoric of the campaign will be lightened and she will support the Dem nominee in the end. And as she has said she will do and has called upon her supporters to do should she not receive the nomination, I will also support the Dem nominee. I will do so for the simplest of reasons summed up in three words: The Supreme Court.

Now let's begin to move on and beat McCain and take back the White House!

Once again a sincere congratulations to the Obama supporters.

7. I agree
As long as she stops attacking Obama there is no rush to get out. You could even argue that Obama is better off if she stays in until at least May 20 to provide cover for West Virginia and Kentucky.

But beyond that, I know from my experience with Dean in 2004 how painful this must be for her and her supporters, and I think we should show compassion and empathy.

48 hours ago, I thought we could be the ones in this position today. It seems almost surreal to have the pundits saying we've won when I was almost ready to give up 2 days ago. It's a shell-shock to me, and I can't even imagine what it must be like for Clinton supporters.
