Thank god we seem to have reached a point in this country...
Where the racist fucks apear to be outnumbered. My heart is lighter today knowing that even though this campaign has tried to exploit every racist inclination people have the black man still came out on top.

Bout freaking time!

1. I've seen lots of threads
arguing that Clinton couldn't win the GE because she would lose the African-American vote. How is that observation perfectly acceptable, but noting that Obama doesn't do well with the white vote is unforgivably racist?

2. Well, Obama DOES do well with the white vote--he had to, to win everything
Edited on Wed May-07-08 11:35 AM by wienerdoggie
that he's won so far. Otherwise, he'd be a Jesse Jackson/niche candidate. I think the issue is that blacks have been offended by what they perceived as attacks on Obama on the basis of race, fairly or not. Some women were offended by what they perceived as attacks on Hillary because of gender--same thing. It is what it is.

3. Because they are both true.
The African American vote would be very upset if they thought the nomination was stolen.

Obama has won a lot of White votes and to say that he cannot is also a "steal" of the truth.

Your comment is simplistic.

6. It wouldn't be racist to make such an observation, if the facts
... backed it up. Fortunately it's not true. :hi:

8. The same people saying "white folks" wont support Obama so he "cant win"
Those "white folks" traditionally vote for the Republicans in the GE.

Have ever since Reagan.

Hillary wouldnt fare any better than Obama with them, but theres no denying that the AA vote is traditionally Democratic, so losing them, as Hillary would, would be a severe disability to our chances in the GE.

11. Don't Factor In The "Why" AA's
wouldn't vote for Clinton. You know that part about overturning the election to Clinton through super-delegates. That would make the AA community very angry and rightly so!

15. My comment has nothing to do with those statements
It has to do with the reality6 of the primary outcomes. The racists lost the black guy won. simple as that.

Sure the black community got behind obama. As much because of Clinton's campaign as because he is black. remember she had their vote in the beginning and lost it.

4. One of these days the "racist fucks"
will notice that Blacks voted for Obama in the 90% range. That does not bode well for race relations in the USA.

9. Oh, since in all past elections Blacks voted for white folks...
It's going to DESTROY American race relations to have these same Black folks voting for a Black candidate?

Your obvious bias makes little sense.

13. Bill got 80%+ of the Black Vote
Edited on Wed May-07-08 11:46 AM by TragedyandHope
That kind of turnout is needed for the Democrats to win the White House. Just be glad that vote is ON YOUR SIDE!

P.S. NOW would be a good time to STOP DISMISSING life-long, loyal democratic voters who are getting your party in office. Thanks.
